I'm well aware that you autists want Drew to play till 2027, but at spme point, he will retire. What are the realistic plans for our next qb? is Grayson the future? Do we draft, trade?

What would you prefer, and what do you think will actually happen?

People on this board will hate it, but I think that we will draft a QB high in this upcoming draft. Someone like Chad Kelly could be high on our board. He's very talented, but needs to mature. He has all the tools to be a good pro though. Just an example, though.

It's too early to tell on Grayson to say whether he'll pan out or not. But I do believe that if the opportunity presents itself, we will not hesitate to get the QB that we like in the draft next year.

I would have liked Kaepernick - low risk insanely high reward - especially if Sean started designing new plays and adapting a unique scheme again

There are none. It isn't something that you can plan on. We went almost 40 years before Brees without a franchise quarterback. The closest we had was Manning and Hebert, and it's debatable how much of franchise qb's they were. One way or the other we are going to have to luck into one either through the draft or free agency. If we are super lucky then Grayson maybe develops into that, but there is no telling at this point. All the more reason to put something together while we have Brees and why it's such a shame that we have wasted the last few years with mediocrity. A franchise qb is maybe the most difficult thing to replace in all of sports.

Oakland, tennessee, and Jacksonville took a decade to find their guy.

Cleveland still don't have theirs so feel the 20th century.

Philly hasn't found stability since McNabb

Tampa finally got Winston.

Buffalo, NY, ans Miami are still pondering.

Minny are still on the fence as well

Could take a decade to find a suitable qb...

and why people who are saying "move on from Brees" are straight up nuts.

All because CSP-Brees duo turned an above average guy into a 1st ballot HOFer doesn't mean it will always happen. it was a perfect storm because CSP used Brees' strength and tried hard to hide the deficiencies.

Doesn't mean he will find another QB who can replicate half of what Brees does.

I would like to take a shot at a qb in free agency that has problems with his coach/front office and got traded for personality issues.

Even teams that do have the "franchise quarterback" still don't have a quarterback to get them over the hump to the promise land. For instance does anyone ever think Matt Ryan will go any further in the playoffs, or Romo and Rivers for that matter, even teams who have QB's that have gone to the promised land still questions their qb's overall value as being just a mediocre qb that got hot during the playoffs such as Eli and Flacco. I know Eli is climbing up the record books into top 10 statistical categories but given the fact that he has been a starter for the same team for more than a decade in today's pass happy NFL any above average QB will push himself into the top 10 in those categories.

Yes, it is laughable that Hebert was one of the closest things that we had to a franchise qb. I forgot to mention Brooks too. God that sucked. I'm not looking forward to time after Brees.

Would vomit.... Dude has manziel written all over him without the pre-existing fortune (don't think ole miss is paying him that well)
