TCU I have not figured out what thy are in all of this, because they are not special and they are not public, so somebody in Austin must like them.

We're very special!

I personally have my doubts that Kansas will end up in a p5 conference

This may be a dumb question, but why do the other programs stick with Texas?

Because they have nowhere else to go (with the exception of Oklahoma and maybe kansas). The rest of the schools who actually had other power conference options already left (CU to PAC12, NU to B1G, A&M and MU to SEC).

The baseball landscape in Texas is weird. I feel like every California school has it (I may be wrong about that though). If SMU had baseball they could easily be similar to Rice or TCU. UNT could be very good also. DBU should probably send both of them thank you cards every time they're in the tournament or national discussion

TT is not a better option than TCU or Baylor... It just isn't.

They would be better off becoming a mid-major that dumps all their resources into basketball such as Villanova and Louisville.

It absolutely is. And that's why they were involved in every single rumor that big 12 schools were going out west in 2011 and neither Baylor or TCU were

Yep. Texas Tech is a pretty shitty expansion option for any P5 conference.

The Big XII is dumb for not going after New Mexico.

That is a gold mine for them and they are getting into an untapped market.

Cincy is a pipe dream and makes no sense, but the BiG XII never makes sense. The only other school that the Big XII should go after is Colorado St, to get Denver back.

I don't remember Baylor, but TCU certainly was...and they have been talked about for the SEC as well.

I don't know if you know this, but Lubbock sucks balls. And TT is the 7th largest school in the state, not 4th. And TT is in Lubbock, which sucks balls.

So...

I definitely agree on the bolded part. Doing some wiki research, looks like both SMU and Tulsa dropped their programs in 1980. I don't remember from prior research, but I'd guess that's around when Title IX was being enforced on college athletics.

It is. All of the last realignment shite was going on while I was at Baylor and our president sent out emails to the student body every single day giving updates. We were going to pretty much be hung out to dry and the school started tearing down buildings and buying land to make greenery/landscaping because the big rumor was that if the Big 12 dissolved we would go Ivy League.

No clue if that ever came close to happening, but I know for a fact they school bought a shite ton of land and tore down buildings to allegedly meet the greenery/landscape requirements.

We honestly would have been shite out luck back then, but I'm not sure about now, especially since we have a solid football program and are typically decent in everything else.

I feel like a lot of California schools have men's soccer programs as well as baseball programs. I don't know how they do this and satisfy Title IX and survive financially

Louisville doesn't really fit that description any longer. And it's not just because of ACC affiliation. They've been pouring money into football and baseball for a while now.

Lol no.

Lubbock is one of the music capitals of the state. It's only as terrible as you make it. I've had a blast every time I've gone out there.

Texas Tech also has bad academic chops in relation to its possible landing spots in the PAC and B1G. There is no way they are attractive to either of those conferences.
