If you give him fair warning it shouldn't be a problem. Depending on their experience, rapid successive explosions make some uneasy. For some it can cause an extremely stressfull situation that can produce severe anxiety. Your version of the story lends me to believe this guy overreacted. However, you can't say for certain the amount of anxiety he endured. A little heads up gives him a chance to bug out or gives him fair warning so when he hears it he knows what it is. If you haven't been awakened by a mortar attack you can't relate. Sounds to me like it could have been handled better on both sides.

He should like a mentally weak pussy who uses PTSD as a crutch for sucking at life. PTSD is the biggest scam vets have going to get a disability check without having to pay taxes.

If he isn't a WW2 era vet then tell him to stop being a pussy. I was in an IED blast bad enough to blow the front end off and fireworks don't bother me. Also tired of hearing POGS bitch about PTSD. No one on a cook line had to pick their friends up from a blown up Humvee, clean their brain matter up and smell burnt flesh. That gives you PTSD not a damn mortar landing outside your CHU.

People you describe are annoying I agree, people like you who assume you are the only one who did anything hard are just as annoying. I kicked in doors in Kunar for a year but you don't hear me complaining like you! Yay America.

My point is you don't get shell shocked from anything but artillery. We didn't have that enough to get shell shocked just my opinion and many vets I talked to feel the same way.
