because a website moves him to number 1 means he is going to go #1?

Thomas Walkup should be the #1 pick!

For real though I know he's not even on that list from draft express, but if I was a GM I would take a flyer on him in the second round.

I dont see this being a possibility unless simmons is showing some faults in his attitude.

Do you honestly think Ben deserves to go #1?

What do you need to do in order to "deserve" to go #1?

IMO, you need to showcase your current abilities and display your upside potential. I think Simmons has done exactly that.

One thing I have learned is that LSU fans are the absolute worst. You guys eat your own like no others I have ever witnessed.

Of course he should be the #1 pick. He had one of the best statistical seasons in SEC HISTORY. He's great. Johnny Jones is in WAYyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over his head.

He will be the #1 prospect on almost all draft boards. There are a few teams where Ingram will be the better fit, though.

Guys, Ben Simmons is going to go number 1 unless Ingram absolutely murders his predraft workouts or Cleveland gets the first pick.

Too many LSU fans thinks he sucks because he didn't average 30 points a game. He is a different type of player that can do so many different things to effect a game. He did look a little disinterested at times, but the guy is 6'10" 240 and can do anything on the floor (except shoot jumpers, but that's something he can be taught).

He is going #1 any website saying otherwise is just trying to fill time with clicks.

I believe it's part of the tRantard narrative that Ben doesn't play for the pride of LSU, has "empty" stats, and doesn't "take over" the game.

Given an open draft of LSU players, I'm confident 90+% of the rant would choose Hornsby over Simmons with the first pick. You know, hustle and all.

Yep.

Same with the Saints and some of the Brees hate.

It means that this kid was a good player in arguably the 3rd best basketball conference in the nation. Brandon Ingram, Kris Dunn, and Buddy Hield are all better players right now. Based on potential only the nod goes to Ben, but it's not the best idea to put all your eggs in that basket.

He gave little effort to try and make his team better and once he got to his double/double it was like the game was over. The selfishness and lack of heart really showed throughout the season. I'm just saying that there are more than a couple NBA GM's that wouldn't waste the first pick on this kid. He's to big of a risk for the #1 overall pick and his character is what put that into question.

I know the majority of yall will disagree but its a reality.

Just so you know, Ben is a good buddy of Lebron. Lebron will be a great mentor for Ben.

Based on what? That they had a better team and better coach? That their team made the tournament?

Based on stats Simmons is better than all of them. Hield is the best scorer in the country and their styles of play are the opposite of each other, so comparing Simmons to him is apples and oranges.

Ingram
17.1 ppg
6.9 rpg
2.0 apg
22.5 PER

Simmons
19.2 ppg
11.8 rpg
4.8 apg
29.0 PER

Soooo both based on statistics and potential Simmons is the better player in every way.

This entire little draft thing is based on potential.

Ben may have played his way right out of Philadelphia. How nice for him.

Dunn and Hield are several years older than him and play completely separate positions.

Ingram I would argue is not a better player than him at all. A different style of player, on a much better team.

As a fellow Laker fan, I think Ingram is a better fit on the team than Simmons. It just seems like Simmons needs the ball as a play initiator which we already have in D Lo/Clarkson. Ingram is that perfect swing man who is becoming a dying breed in the league right now. I would love him to fill that frame up more, which can happen.
Clarkson is a 6th man/trade piece.
