How long after your divorce (if ever) did you decide...

to settle down and get serious with someone again? I've been divorced for a year and a half now. Part of me wants someone to come home to every night again, and part of me enjoys the freedom of doing whatever I want. I'm not really the date around type of guy, but I guess commitment scares me now. Maybe it's because I was married to a lying, cheating narcissist before.

You need to sow your oats far and wide before thinking about anything like that
It happens to the best of us. Go hang around another married couple and listen to the wife nag and bitch and moan.
That longing will clear up real quick.

I was divorced about 2 years before I remarried, and we dated about 6 months, so about 1.5 years after my divorce.
My 1st wife left me for another man, took all of our furnishing and emptied out the bank account. I was completely blindsided, especially after working to put her through nursing school.

I've been married to a wonderful woman for 18 years now. Don't be scared of commitment, but be cautious till you are sure.

I started dating someone eight months after my ex left...divorce wasn't final of course. Dated that girl for almost three years when she left me for an old man...

You'd think that. You'd be wrong.

So you obviously know how to pick em and should definitely do the monogamy thing again

I was in the same boat. I worked 7 days a week 12 hrs a day for 152 days straight and then 5 days a week the rest of the year for 3 years while my ex wife worked part time while she finished her nursing degree. A few years after that she decided she didn't want me around.
I waited 6 months after she left to start dating. I've been with my current GF for 14 months and getting married soon.

I don't remember. But I was only with one other girl before my wife. That number is a little higher now.

Man, I don't see how some of y'all can jump back in the marriage boat so soon. I'm just getting to the point where I'm settling down a little and I still want to run for the fences every time commitment comes up.

Until the thought of the ex doesn't make you angry, and then be very picky and date until you don't have to compromise who you are.
First part took about 2 years, second part took about 4 years. Been married again 1.5 years and it has been amazing.
