What kind of stress will these rains form N LA put on the levees and canals in S LA?

Has anyone traveled from Shreveport west to 59 in Carthage yesterday/today? If so is 79 open? I know Logansport is a no go crossing the Sabine there but 79 could be bad also.

That is very enticing to making me wanna try to book it from Ruston to BR and leave in the next hour.
No closures on 167 to I49 to 190, and the radar shows a break in the rain for CENLA between 2-5

Just looked at wafb radar
Looks like BR might dodge another bullet like 2 weeks ago. Seems the severity of the storms is decreasing as they rise
Fingers crossed
Prayers sent to all affected

Water from N. LA runs into the Red and Ouachita Rivers into the Atchafalaya and then into the Gulf. It doesn't affect NOLA and BR. They will have enough problems with their own rain. There might be some problems with the Sabne river in SW LA and SE TX, but that's pretty rural.

A good bit of the water in N LA is the red river.

I just don't know if I have the balls to take the risk in a 2 door sports car with shitty windshield blades. I see what the radar looks like but I don't know man.

Quick, someone do the math on how many zeros that is!

The models actually did a good job of identifying the extreme 500mb pattern well in advance.

Oh gosh no, my future inlaws are out there (on high ground, not worried), but we just bought a house in an unnamed subdivision right next to P&S (for anonymity sake, ), so I'm worried about the water making it's way up there. We already dealt with a small flash flood overpowering the drainage system out there tuesday night and I'd hate to repeat that. and yeah, that CVS is gonna be the tits.

and of course, I know there are people out there and on this very board going through much worse shite, and my heart goes out to them.
