Should we yes, but they will not. Just like we should have got crennel over Ryan, you just have to understand the saints simply don't want to be physical.

I was all aboard this train a few years ago. Great defense has followed this guy around. Payton made it pretty clear though, he's not getting rid of his boy Dennis Allen.

And You have to understand Crennel got paid $3M that year from the Texans after they fired him, and he would have lost that money had he signed to coach anywhere which is why he did not sign anywhere..... But go ahead and hate anyway

my point why CSP's loyalty is risking way too much of his neck.

Phillips may not be a great HC, but he's a damn good DC.

Dude anyone can coach that defense

2 top 5 corners
The best SS
Ware and Miller on the edges
Jackson and Wolfe are two of the most underrated d line men in the league

I see people are still in denial about the fact that Dennis Allen will be our DC this year?

You forget what coach developed some of those guys.

Took over this year.
3rd YPG -> 1st
16th PPG -> 3rd
9th sacks -> 1st
7th INTs -> 13th
17th FFs -> 1st
22nd FRs -> 4th

Ok. Then lets consider his tenure as the Texan's DC (2011-2013)

2010: 30th in total defense
2011: 2nd
2012: 7th
2013: 7th

2014: 16th

If Denver is as talented as you claim, then it certainly looks like Phillips is great at capitalizing on that talent and turning them into the best in the league.

He might be the GOAT.

And from what I've read over the years, along with his Daddy and Rams/Redskins HC George Allen, probably one of the most-liked coaches (by his players) in NFL history.

Well he isn't an option. I would've liked Schwartz though. Philly made a good hire there.

But I'm ok with Allen. We need talent and athleticism in the front 7 or it isn't gonna matter who is running that D.

Would love to have him. Not sure if SP is even interested in him though.

More than anything we need more talent on defense. I don't think any defensive coordinator necessarily gives us that. Currently, Phillips has Chris Harris, Talib, Von Miller, Ware, I think some of their defensive linemen for them who I don't know a ton about are having big years. Phillips inherited a situation that makes him look very good. A lot of these players were already there. He doesn't solve our issues. Having another defensive draft like this last year and having the current young players continue to develop solves our issues. There is no quick fix. Hopefully we bring in some more playmakers, and we don't waste a bunch more free agent acquisitions on a bunch more busts.

Wade Phillips has a sensational pass rush. If he came here, the Saints D would look the same because we generate absolutely no pressure on the QB

Exactly. Give Rob Ryan that defense and he is a hot candidate for a head coaching gig.
