Said they should have gone for two to myself because they run the risk of never getting a chance to win if they lose the coin flip. Lo and behold. Is there some strategy I'm not thinking of right now that made going for 2 a terrible idea?

Because that's an idiotic decision on the road.

most nfl coaches arent going for two in that scenario. 99 out of 100 times they are going into overtime.

It's just controversial if you fail to convert it, but not a bad idea. I'd take college's overtime anyday.

Probably the success rate of 2pt conversions is what you're not thinking of.

The main reason is because the coach would get crucified if they don't get it.
Now the question is, do they have higher odds of converting a 2 Pt play than winning in OT? The ESPN probability thing has GB at 46.2% chance of winning at the end of regulations. odds of converting a 2pt conv are probably slightly lower than that. Plus you don't put all your eggs in one basket in case something goes wrong with something like a bad snap.

So no it wasn't a bad decision to kick the xp

How does a team not have a chance to win in OT?

probability to win at the end of regulation

2pt conversion has lower odds.

You have all the momentum and a defense sulking about a fluke play.. No better time to go for the win IMO..

A team should never go for two in that situation unless the defense has either failed to stop the opposing team all night or if the team is completely exhausted due to injuries/depth issues/opposing team's pace of play/weather.
