When he looses, acknowledge you tried to justify a dumbass making a dumbass decision

Back to my first post... Lie to upsell more tickets

ETA: Unless you're implying that I'm not converting odds to fractions, but that is insignificant with numbers this large.
Additionally, the "odds" listed for the Powerball are not the same as betting odds in horse racing, for example.
1 in 292,201,338 means there are that many possibilities and one will be the winner. It isn't a ratio in the case of the Powerball.

If he bought 2k tickets ($4k), that only brings the odds down to 1 in 291,998,000.
Now, that's the kind of stupid that's gonna thrive on the OT.
Indeed.

Your odds dont jump that much. Its not as simple as fractions.
By your odds math spending $50000 guarantees you a win. It doesnt work that way.

That isn't what he stated at all.

Sure. If they said that tomorrow they are going to give one person in America $930 million, we'd all go about our business like normal. However, if they said they were going to give $930 million to someone in Metairie, you'd don't believe that would be significant to those people?

I just dropped $10 on the poor tax. That plus the $10 I spent Friday has me down $20.
Edit: make that $16 down, forgot I "won" $4 Friday night and reinvested it tonight.
Spending $4k is just fricking stupid.

Posted on 1/12/16 at 7:31 pm to Titus Pullo
How many should I get?
One, just to stay in the game, but not lose $20 like you?
jk baw
Good luck

Spending 50k guarantees only a 1/11680 chance, by "his odds"

I cashed in my retirement and spent it all on tickets. I'm still young enough to recover, and my kids will be as smart as dad so no need for college savings with all those scholarships coming.

Too late to edit... Letting it ride... Damn auto correct

I've spent 6 bucks so far. I'll pick up a few tomorrow
Posted on 1/12/16 at 7:40 pm to tigerskin
He probably bought tickets for a lot of people who pooled their money together. Move along folks
