Was having severe vibration. Thought may be an alignment or balance issue. They say it's the tires.

Your tires could be balder than Michael Jordan and your car could not vibrate. It's something other than the tires and the Pep Boy is about to go in raw

Is it consistent? You get the vibration if the tires or cold or hot?

How often did you have tires rotated during that 20k mile span?

Cupped tires tend to cause vibrations. This is a maintenance issue and the seller has no obligation to you. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
