I'll most likely get roasted for this but I'll throw it out anyway:

Cam's contract is up after this season, and everyone knows that somewhat of a change on offense is necessary.

What are the chances Alleva tries to redeem himself and take a shot at Richt for OC? He's been a solid coach in the SEC for a long time, and was very successful at Georgia and he's gone on record saying he wants to coach QBs and call plays...why not talk to him?

We know Les is stubborn and overrides his OC's calls, but with Richt I think Les could change his ways especially if he is given parameters to just let his OC to do his job with the next hire.

What does the Rant think?

I am in, but sounds like we are keeping Cam and Richt said he does not want to coach in the SEC.

It sure sounds good in theory but Richt has not called plays in a very long time.

I'm all for it. And I know Richt said he wants to be more hands on as a QB coach and play caller at his next stop. So sounds like he would prefer to be an OC + QB coach.

But considering all the high profiled jobs still available, I think it would be hard for him to turn down a head coaching gig at 1 of those schools to be an OC.

I would be thrilled if we did hire him, but think it's a long shot.

Not me. His offenses have been pedestrian the last several years. Look his production since Mike Bobo left and you'll see a steady decline.

He's going to take a hc job, probably with Miami.

Well there's a good chance that he's the next head coach at Miami, Virginia, Missouri, S. Carolina, or someplace else.

He just interviewed for the Miami job

It doesn't matter who we hire as an OC, if les doesn't let him do his job, we will be in this same position this time next year

If Alleva is as conniving as he's been made out to be over the last few weeks, I can see this as his next move. It's one thing to have failed head coaches on your staff, but totally different to have someone who is arguably as accomplished as your head coach. Offense does great but defense struggles and we lose 3-4 games, good bye Les and hello Mark. I'm not advocating this. I just think if Alleva really has it out for Les it may be a subtle way to undermine him. And the guy is only 55. He's like 7 or 8 years younger than Les.

If Richt coaches next year it will be as the head coach somewhere. Way too many good spots for him to land to be otherwise.

MR is not interested in an OC job.
