No??
Dude, Asik has played in 3 games.
Jrue plays half games every other game.
Cole hasnt played yet.
Reke hasnt played yet.
Qpon hasnt played yet.
AD missed the game.

Thats the sole reason for this start.

Ok, you guys are right. I'm cool. I'll enjoy our 1 real win and all our almost wins.

I'm back on the wagon. We're just dealing with injuries. Even though we'll be dealing with them all season, I'm super stoked to watch our young players develop.

It's a long season. Even if we miss the playoffs this year, and next...and next.. I'll wait for AG's system to develop and our starters to learn his system. Their bodies will eventually meld into that fast offense at some point of course, and it'll be so awesome watching the, um, journey.

I don't know what came over me. Sorry for the negativity. Last night was awesome, almost winning. I mean, AD was hurt but it was great seeing all the open shots. Young guys. I'm CLEARLY such this retarded idiot for being miffed about this 1-7 start. I'm looking forward to everyone not being hurt which is JUST AROUND THE CORNER, and being able to go on a deep run.

Fly on, murda birds. Keep the near wins up and packing the blender. It's gonna happen. Anybody disappointed obviously knows NOTHING about basketball.

So are you going to suggest the pels do something differently or just ramble?

Who the hell is suggesting you do that? People are coming at you because it is much earlier in the season than you are willing to accept and we are finally seeing signs of life from the team. Just 2 games ago the losses looked so bad we were right there on the ledge with you, but now the team is actually competing even with a depleted roster, so there is hope that maybe if we have less 3rd and 4th stringers and more starters playing, we can make up some ground.

And how much ground is there to make up? This isn't the NFL or CFB, 1-7 isn't that far behind. On November 12th, 2015 the team is 3 games behind the 8th seed with 74 games remaining.

Flash back to March 25, 2015

The Pelicans (37-34) are 3.5 games behind the the Thunder (41-31) and .5 behind the Suns

3.5 games back with 11 games remaining and they still made the playoffs. Yet you're ready to throw in the towel with 7 times as many games remaining. Pull it together man.

It's hilarious to watch all the people who never posted here before to post long diatribes about quitting on this team 8 games into an 82 game season.

Bonus points for posting these rants following our two best games of the year.

I hate it when people act like injuries are not an excuse/reason for losing.

Absolutely hate it.

Why does every expert project the Warriors to win 60+ games and the Nuggets to win less than 40? Because of the gap in their talent, right? Yet, when a team loses a large portion of its talent due to injuries, that isn't an excuse for losing????

Most projected the Pels and Grizz to be fighting for 6th, assuming relative health for both. What if the Grizz would have went into Atlanta last night without Gasol, Conley, Randolph, Jeff Green, and Brandan Wright? Would they have had no excuse to lose as well?

It's absurd. The injuries have been disappointing, the team has not. Now, if you want to assume the injuries continue at a historic level all season long, then yes, this will be a terrible season. But the calls for "how long will you guys give Gentry" are asinine. Can I see him with a halfway decent roster first? Thanks

Its like someone bought a car on August 20th in New Orleans and then it got destroyed by the flooding and them saying "What a disappointing piece of shite. I spent all this money and it only lasted 3 days. Fords are bad cars. Ive seen enough!"

What lunacy.

I agree with y'all 100% about injuries are a legitimate excuse that you can't discount. I think the meltdown some people are having is because they never end. We keep saying that fully healthy we should be a good team but we never seem to be fully healthy. This has been going on for the better part of a decade. While the melts are pretty idiotic, they are understandable

Meltdowns about injuries are very understandable. I have one personally every time someone goes down.

To OP - like everyone has said, 8 games in with a new system and non-starters playing the majority of the minutes. And we are still playing with some of the best teams in the league. Go pels.

Youre basically saying that it is understandable that there are idiots, and that idiots tend to melt. To which i concur.

Well, to be honest, I'd written that first post in the thread right after the game ended. I have to watch almost every game on DVR after I put my kids to bed, and I was seething watching that lead trickle away.

I don't understand how the majority of you dudes don't get pissed off in a loss. Injuries aside, team gelling aside - we lost. It's a fricking loss. I don't like to lose. And I don't like watching a team skid at the beginning of the season after I thought we had the answer. Losing WITH injuries is still losing.

It sucks.

the substance of the melts are idiotic but the melts themselves are understandable

Maybe we don't get pissed because this isn't college football. There are still 74 games to be played. And when you play without 3 of your starters, you're kinda fricked.

NBA is a game of runs. Atlanta couldn't have given a frick less heading into last night. It showed in the first half. Meanwhile the Pels players are literally trying to keep their contracts going or get sent back to the d league. The Hawks came out a much better team in the second half.

This board was as melty as it's ever been during that 0-6 stretch. It wasn't just the random idiots that melt down easily starting threads, even the realists and sunshine pumpers were alarmed and posting about it. But the last 2 games have been different. Laziness and confusion have been replaced with effort and execution. Luke Babbitt tried to make his midrange game happen in the 4th and played a large part in shooting us out of the game. Replace him with AD and we hold onto the lead. This loss was very different from the other 6.

After 0-6 there wasn't anything positive about the team other than Eric Gordon looks to have added a few things to his game. But these last 2 games have been a different team. This level of effort and execution of the past few games from day 1 would make you at least 3-5 maybe 4-4 even with the injuries we've had.

Would it have mattered if the best player on the team doesn't play in a game that the team lost??????

:rotflmao: :rotflmao:

I guess it doesn't hurt thier teams when Lebron, CP3, James.H..etc doesn't play.

Remember all those years Steph Curry kept hurting his ankle and missed so many games? Yeaaa golden state wasn't that great those years. They were a struggling 8th seed--I think it does matter.

This assumes that ATL plays the same you don't think they take the game a little more seriously if Davis is playing?

Uh bro, not sure it's as simple as you make it out to be. If you remember correctly last season, when Chris Paul didn't play LAC beat the Rockets in HOU in game 1. For the rest of the series 3 games in Clutch City Paul played in all of them and they won 0 of them.

Were they not taking it seriously when AD dropped 43 on them last week?

Well AD is better than any player on the hawks so I don't think it would have made a difference they cared more.
