yes, and outscored

They threw for more yards, higher completion rate, ran for more YPC, hell they even had a better punting average.

We didn't move the ball at all in OT. When the game was on the line they scored and we shite the bed.

This thread is embarrassing. Posters already blaming the refs before the game has started. What a crappy defeatist attitude to have.

I've never blamed refs for any of our losses. The blame can always be put elsewhere, for instance last year I hold Chavis much more accountable for that loss.

BUT, if you think refs cant, and don't, affect the outcome's of games, then you are very naive. You can't look at overall penalties either. A well placed flag at a crucial point in a game (ahem, personal foul last year) can have a tremendous affect on the game.

so you prefer to wait until after the game when it has already been done. Sometime members of the media read this board and then look to see what's going on. This brings a focus on the refs of which the refs are aware. Makes it much harder for them to do their dirty work under the bright lights of national media attention. All you have to do is look to the Nov 5, 'game of the century' Reid interception for evidence of this. Do you really think that call goes in our favor if not for the focus on the refs in that game?

What's embarrassing, is the officiating crews for the SEC.

Is Ritter doing the LSU/Bama game? I would prefer the crew that did the Bama game last week.

You couldn't be more right about last season's game. His defense failed to stop the 2-minute offense at the end of both halves.

Ritter and his crew made multiple questionable calls in the Syracuse game this year. If there is as ever an opportunity for him to be impartial it was in that game yet, he just couldn't do it.

In fact, they took the 87 Yard run from LF7 with a bogus penalty.

quote:

The officiating crew, which was from the SEC, ruled that LSU was in an illegal formation, because it didn't have enough players on the line of scrimmage. Miles said both of his receivers, Dupre and Travin Dural, checked with an official just before the ball was snapped to see if they were aligned correctly.

"My responsibility on the play is to step off the line," Dupre said. "I looked at the official and he nodded. I looked at Travin and I saw with my own eyes he was on the line where he was supposed to be.

"So when Leonard scored, I thought it was good. I looked back and saw the flag. My last thought was, 'It can't be on us (he or Dural).'"

I agree that the 2009 INT/incompletion was awful, and no matter how things were going for LSU's offense that day, that was a huge play that changed the complexity of the game.

But last year? Gimme a break. The PF at the end of the game was called when your player pushed ours to the ground after a play. Even if there was some flopping, it still looked like a hard push to the refs.

You can argue that Robinson was pulling his leg all you want, but its the second push/punch/what-have-you that almost always gets called. Happens ALL THE TIME.

and before that completely BS penalty,

LSU had outgained them 255 to 209. That was an even game. They screwed it by fumbling inside their own 10, and the officials let them off the hook

Not to mention that they had 1 extra possession in the game (really 2 when you count the kneel down before the half)

They moved the ball in OT on an illegal play that should have been a penalty. Refs shite the bed on that one too

You kicked a field goal and kick it out of bounds I guess Ritter did that. Your DC sits on his arse and we drive the ball and tie the game. We kick off and RF knocked LF arse off and he quit. We score in OT and LF don't want the ball and you get beat. I'd blame that on Ritter too!
