You know why we lose when Ritter calls our games? We got outplayed.

We had some of the worst refs I have ever seen last week.. But guess what? We won. We won because we were better. That is how it works, that is how it always works.

I think we win 17-10 last year if Ritter doesn't make that controversial call

First call of the game last year. Umpire calls holding on BAMA, Ritter tells him no foul picks up the flag.

This will be Ritter's 8th game for LSU, by far the most.

quote:

The average SEC ref flags LSU 6.86 times for 56.63 yards, and has a penalty margin of 1.77-15.51. That's, as we've established above, the worst in the SEC. Ritter seemed to take that as a challenge and he flags LSU an average of 10.14 times for 81.86 yards at a ridiculous margin of 5.29-38.00.

quote:

Also, look at the number of LSU games Ritter has worked. He is far and away the least friendly ref to LSU, yet he has worked more LSU games than anyone. Only Owens' crew is in the same ballpark. If LSU fans really want to talk conspiracy, note that the only referee that seems to call a game in LSU's favor has only worked 2 LSU games, and none since September of 2013.

Refs never have any input on the outcome of a game?

9-point loss. Refs didn't give Bama 9 points.

We've been over this.

Fair enough, but doubled penalties for LSU (8-43) versus Bama (4-20), the terrible interception call (upheld on review) was a potential momentum reversing play while we were, admittedly behind and getting pushed around, defensively.

Officiating was potentially the deciding factor in a fairly close game, score wise.

If I want, I bet I could call a holding or PI on every play, maybe even a block in the back. I bet I could also look past a holding, PI, or block on the side/back on every play if I wanted to as well.

If you don't think that this guy leans toward Alabama, then you either haven't payed much attention or don't realize the way their little world works. Just another reason why the SEC needs to be removed from the state of Alabama in my estimation.

In a sport that has a 9 point play, you're right.

Seems like this analysis is somewhat useless unless done on a per play basis, as I'm guessing LSU games have fewer plays than virtually all other teams in the conference.

It was Marc Curles' crew, but I was thinking it would have been Conference USA officials. Oddly enough, his crew was suspended back in 2009 for a controversial call (one of many from he and his crew that season, apparently).

Last year Mike Pereira, the former VP of NFL officiating, publicly stated SEC referees are losing integrity and credibility.
What would motivate SEC Officials to sacrifice integrity and credibility?
