I thought one of the big difference in their plan teirs is limiting the number of simultaneous streams (as well as HD/UHD content options).
You can spread your Netflix account as wide as you want, but if you are on the basic, only one can view at any given time.
Isn't that correct?

which is plenty for me and my family

its about as hard as switching through a TV guide with a remote...

classic "lazy argument"
yep, it's extremely difficult for me to press a button or two on my remote to switch between content.
so difficult my completely technology incompetent girlfriend can do it

Person A: Shares Netflix account with elderly parents and brother in college
Person B: Uses Netflix account for 4 separate televisions in his home. So the wife and kids can stream Netflix 24/7
What's the difference if Netflix knowingly allows you to share the account for multiple devices?

quote:thanks Bob...its a shame these cheap asses aren't willing to fork over $30-50 to ethically and legally watch TV.
It's 30 bucks a month for sling TV with the sports package. depending on your location you can buy an antenna needed for your area. 15 bucks if you want HBO programming. plus netflix and hulu 20 bucks a month. So 65 a month for a ton of programming. I only need Sling TV during football season and I don't buy in to HBO stuff so it's 20 bucks a month most months with it being 50 a month for me during football season.
My prediction: the United States' population decreases due to millenials not getting married and having families just to spite the cable industry...

It may be but it is not an apples to apples comparison and it isn't a la carte heaven. Cord Cutters are starting to sound like Cross Fitters or a new religious group.
When the technology and true a la carte comes then I will listen but as it currently stands cable isn't a bad deal in comparison and it is definitely not breaking the bank. Cable actually is decent in comparison as a value and all the bitching from cord cutters just sounds like people wanting you to join their church or cross fit group. It is so emotional.

So you think you're being honorable and noble by overpaying for crap? They knowingly acknowledge that sharing occurs!

Bob, how does the setup change for multiple TV's in your house?

you guys are giving honorable cord cutters like Bob a bad name!
Posted on 10/20/15 at 1:11 pm to buckeye_vol
how hard is it for a cord cutter to change channels? is there a convenient remote?
Posted on 10/20/15 at 1:12 pm to Chicken
Will you ever charge for this site?
Posted on 10/20/15 at 1:13 pm to Chicken
Not hard at all. Hit the home button on my Roku remote and open a new app on the app screen.
Posted on 10/20/15 at 1:13 pm to Chicken
Depends if you have to switch over to the antennae on the roof or if you use the fire stick or have the Netflix app.

Chicken is clearly in the good ole baw network

ughh, come on man. stop being stubborn.
people just accepting the prices and handing over $150 a month to the cable companies is exactly what they want and won't inspire them to change to meet their customers needs and expectations.
how many baby boomers or older couples do you know that willingly hand over $250-300 a month for a triple play -esque bundle that includes a land line, cable tv, and 8mb of internet. Are they getting their money's worth? Do they really use all of those services? Hell No, Cox, Comcast, UVerse is raking them over the coals, because they don't know any better. These are the same people you say we are stealing from? When they steal from thousands of people a month.
Now, they are getting a dose of their own medicine and like it or not, eventually cable companies will be forced to offer "true a la carte" options, instead of packaging together hundreds of garbage channels people aren't interested in and forcing you to pay a premium for it.
cable companies are the new brick and mortar video stores. they will adapt or go extinct in the next 10 years, much like Blockbuster.

Thread begins with pitfalls of cable industry. Turns into thread bashing millennial because they are more aware of better options than cable and smart enough to avoid a high unnecessary bill
by and large millennials are more intelligent and tech savvy than baby boomers so this of zero surprise.
hell, half of the boomers i know struggle to upload pictures to their facebook accounts so i wouldnt expect them to know how to stream tv efficiently.

I know of literally no one that pays $150 for just cable. You may be lumping phone and Internet in there but why in the context of this discussion? If anything internet bills will go up once everyone starts cord cutting.
