Go out and throw a pick or go 3 and out

a. we had plenty of 3 and outs

b. if the pick is thrown deep it's a punt, and with our punting this year, a GREAT punt

Oh so just chunk it deep.

we had 500 offensive yards on a top 10 defense. I am not going to enter a debate that late in the game after a huge ST gaff that we should go away from our identity.

Yall win, all passes should be 40 yards downfield, versus feeding a running back committee that gains more yards per attempt than our passing game

LSU is 20th in the nation in PPG and 28th in YPG... we have the consensus Heisman frontrunner on the team, and you're bitching about giving him the ball in the second half to put away the game with a 2 TD lead?

if you're in 3rd and long it's not the worst strategy, especially with our punting

this board overrates turnovers

we had 500 yards and that was mostly in the first half when we were passing and opening things up for everyone else

we got away from that identity and we let UF challenge us

that isn't the first time that same script has come down this year, which is why people are worried

that's b/c of how badly our coaching has been using our passing attack. which unit had a higher ypp in the 1st half last night?

yea, cause our special teams had 3 straight 3 and outs to start the second half.
Let's analyze those three possessions rather than just assume that "we always take our foot off the gas."

First possession: ten yard holding call puts LSU at first and 20 from its own 15. That's going to put a little sugar in the tank. Fournette got ten yards on first down, but lost four on second down. Harris's pass attempt to Diarse is incomplete.

Second possession: LSU's attempts a pass on second and 7. Incomplete. LSU tried to step on the gas, but it didn't work. Harris scrambled on third down for three yards.

Third possession: Fournette carries for 7 yards on first down, but loses two on second down. On third and five, Harris completes pass to Williams for 4 yards.

It's not like LSU ran into a pile on nine straight plays. Four out of nine plays were pass attempts.

Pass attempts are not always pass completions. Sometimes, stepping on the gas causes the engine to stall. Sometimes, it's even worse.

In any event, after Florida tied it up at 28-28, LSU scored on its next possession with pass completions on two or three of nine plays.

we didn't put the game away

UF was allowed to come back into the game to challenge us for the W late, so that plan failed

In the 3rd we had nine offensive plays. 4 were passes 5 were runs. The runs on first Averaged 7 goddamn yards. Resulting in 2 and 5 we had penalty so it was 1st and 15, 2nd and 7, and second and 3. We threw it on second and seven and ran it on second and five and second and three.

You can't just throw up stupid shite without understanding the circumstance.

ok, 30 minutes of football trumps a season of productivity.

Hell by your logic, we should sit LF if Guice has s better YPC for a quarter.

Laughable logic

not when teams keep coming back

i mean we were a penalty away from MSU having a decently easy FG chance to beat us this year already

luckily last night UF's QB is hot garbage and he melted down at the end

if we keep relying on that kind of stuff, eventually the odds will not be in our favor and our luck will run out...or we'll get unlucky

IDGAF if it failed. Think of Pete Carroll in the Super Bowl last year. You have 1st and Goal and Marshawn Lynch. You give it to that fricker 4 times and if you don't get in, then you didn't deserve to get in.

You have a 2 Touchdown lead coming out of halftime. One more score would effectively put the game away. And while our passing game was coming along nicely to that point, our running game was still being effective and it is the strength of our team by far.

I have no issue with giving the ball to the best player in the country and asking him to go with the game for you.

So the only game on which you rely was LSU's FIRST game of the year.

luckily last night UF's QB is hot garbage
This is KNOWN fact, correct? LSU's coaches knew this fact, did they not? At least by halftime, they knew this fact.

First, you haven't offered any analysis to suggest that LSU "took its foot off the gas."

Second, your argument states that LSU is relying on the "odds" or "luck." Except you fail to mention that the "odds" and "luck" they relying are the conservative "odds" and not pushing their "luck."

Because the flip side of "stepping on the gas" to avoid the odds and luck running out is that sooner or later stepping on the gas will have the odds and luck running out resulting in interceptions, short fields, and pick sixes.

Field position dictated the play calling in the 2nd half more than going conservative

look at the stats in the OP

i said if we play to keep every game tight, the odds will not be in our favor over a 12-game schedule

we already got somewhat lucky one game. what happens if we get unlucky? i'd rather not leave it up to chance and call the game to create more separation

our running game has fumbled more than our passing game has thrown interceptions this year

and we had short fields and 3 and outs last night often in the 2nd when we abandoned the pass

Either Ricky Jefferson or fricking Peveto wanted to blow the game.

While Les does need somebody to hold his hand when he tries to do something stupid and overturn the other coaches whatever the case maybe but I have no problem sticking with buga. hopefully we will pass the ball next week again but knowing Les Miles he will probably run the triple option with no qb.

Then the next week in coke titty town, bama and Saban will choke offensively and beg Les to beat him with some lucky Byrd play ala AU. Even with 14 flags against usfor holding and zero for us somehow I do think we're going to luckfrick our way into the national championship game.

it's going to be hell of a ride but sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

see the problem is that it's almost a self-fulfilling prophecy

bad field position + a so-so running game and no passing will mean you're never flipping that field position

so yeah, the field position was an issue, but we weren't aggressive enough to flip it

Which is the reason why we had to win with trickery. That's bullshite. Your QB is on fire and you handcuff him against a tremendous Florida team. Les has a rabbits foot up his arse.

How long did that last? LSU gets a lead and tries to run the clock out. Defense stood strong in the 4th and won that game.

Then stick with whats working and get it. Don't run every play and say stop me if you can. They loaded the box.
