Something like that. But you left out the part where the kid attacked the cop

I can't believe that people are siding with the cop. Was the kid a smartass? Yes. Did he deserve to die on the side of the road? Absolutely not.

The cop either brighted the kid and several other people by his own admission or he had the dims adjusted too high on purpose. He was riding around stopping everyone that flashed him. It's obvious that it was the little game he was playing. The cop got just what he had been asking for. Eventually somebody's going to get the red arse and not want to play that game. He deserved a much worse beating than he got.

Well, everything except license, registration, and proof of insurance. . .

The cop never had his brights on (so he says). The kid flashed at him to say hey turn your brights off. The cop turns around and then flashes to show that they were never on.
But when this incident was discussed months ago on here (unless this is the same circumstance, but different incident), I thought it was established that the teen was the third driver to flash his lights at the officer.

So maybe he didn't have his brights on but surely he is smart enough to realize after the third incident that his lights are too causing problems, right?

Well then again he got beat up bad enough by a half-tazed skinny teenager that he had to shoot him. This again shows that people with cognitive, emotional, and physical deficits should not be in a position of power over the general public

Kid may have been acting like an idiot, but I expect LEO's to be able to handle teenagers acting like idiots--the norm for that age.

so because hes a kid he should get a free pass on assaulting police and not get shot. You're an idiot. I hope if god forbid you ever have children they don't share your stupid philosophies.

Because cops are cops and most likely have never been taught how to fight, even more importantly how to defend.

The kid panicked and tried to throw a beating on the cop, the cop also panicked. It happens. You can't really expect the cop remain calm when they have been trained to go for the gun when they get in trouble.

I wish I could blame the cop but I just can't in this situation. He did exactly as he was trained to do. No more, no less.

How fricking stupid are you? Do you have any idea how fleet vehicle maintenance works? If it was a smaller department it's probably not his vehicle exclusively; he may share it with 1 or 2 other patrolmen. But, yeah, he adjusted the lights on a car that doesn't belong to him (against dep't policy) all so he could execute a kid.

Do any of you anti-cop fricktards on here ever stop and think about the logical extension of the fricktardery that y'all post?

That's not really fair. The cop took the job and was trained as best as department funding would allow. It's not necessarily his fault.

I am not a big fan of the police in general but only because I feel we can't afford to train them properly.

If I am in charge of training the police and I don't have the funding or the time to put them through a decent grappling school, I have no choice but to teach them to shoot to kill. What else can you do?

The cop is a bitch, nothing more, nothing less. He had to use a gun on a teen with no weapon. Imagine you getting into a altercation with a teen with no weapon and you shot the teen 7 times. You'd be rotting in jail.

right or wrong, one thing I personally do and tell my friends and family to do, is be nice and friendly when pulled over.

Even if it's some raging dickhead cop screaming at you, be nice.

Talk to the cop like it's Jesus Christ himself coming to chat with you. Pay the upmost respect, and be nice. If you are nervous, take some breaths first, you can NEVER appear nervous around police, they see that as super suspicious.
Just use manners and be super polite, and many times you get a warning.

Or a reduction in the offenses written for you.
(this is how I have been given misdemeanor citations, but never truly arrested)

Police are allowed to escalate force.

They can shoot you for punching them. You can't shoot me if I punch you.
Just one of those things. Do I agree with it? NO
Do I live with it? Yes.

This is about the value of a human life. You obviously think human life is worth less than I do. I think that a person who decides to become police should not be trained that the public's life is worth so little that at the first hint of danger deadly force is justified. It doesn't make sense for police to be so risk averse to me.

Assault isn't punished with the death penalty for a reason. It's disproportionate reaction and punishment.

It's bull shite and needs to be changed. If I'm down range and fricking hadji doesn't have a weapon or anything to destroy innocent lives, I can't shoot him, if I did I'd be sitting in Leavenworth. But our own police can take a teens life because he couldn't control the situation. It's bull shite.

Should have told the cop he was a free inhabitant.
