Dude I did it to get your panties in a wad. Look at my post history on this board. I once asked if Creed was the best heavy metal band of the 90s and people went more ape shite than here

Touch Me I'm Sick by Mudhoney and Nearly Lost You by Screaming Trees are scientifically proven to be the two best songs from the grunge era.

Melvins - Lizzy

Because without the Melvins, there would be no Nirvana.

The Melvins aren't grunge, but this song has that grunge feel to it and came out in that era.

The lyrics to this one are just too great.

Kurt once said that when he wrote SLTS, he was trying to imitate what it would sound like if The Pixies covered Boston's "More Than A Feeling"

So yeah, The Pixies are legit. Other than Sonic Youth they are probably the most important band of the last 35 years.

Another brilliant song, and probably the best song to come out of riot grrrl not by Sleater-Kinney. If we lump riot grrrl in with grunge, then yes. Pretend We're Dead is a great song. L7 is back together and touring again, too. I wonder if they are still as angry and terrifying? Because they were so awesome, back in the day.

yeah, that guy

"The" Pixies is accepted nomenclature. You have to be a real pretentious a-hole to get upset over that. And I say that as a pretentious a-hole myself.

Bikini Kill has some really good songs but yeah as far as "iconic" goes you'd have to say that's #1
