This talk was going to start sooner or later...

quote:

Look away, LSU fans. You’re not going to like what you see below. Because no college football fans want to see any of the guys playing for room, board, and snacks consider the possibility of paying for their own room, board, and snacks.

Edited... They just doubled down on the argument.. even attacking Michael Bonnette...

quote:

Fournette argument strikes a nerve in Baton Rouge

quote:

But good luck making a business decision when employees of LSU will attack even mere question of whether a business decision should be made as an “insult” to the player.

He would never do that to the team, so you might as well delete this.

Too bad for them, Fournette is an alpha, compared to their beta opinions.

I wouldn't blame him that much but he doesn't seem like the type and it wouldn't look like a very good attitude going into the draft after the whole Clowney situation.

TM7 did it, kinda. He's just fine.

But that's completely different.

I could see someone doing this if they were an out of state kid

Fournette likely grew up his entire life being an LSU fan and a Saints fan. It's not likely that he'll get drafted by the Saints (because the Saints would be dumb enough to pass on him) so this is his one opportunity to play for a team that he grew up loving. I'm sure he'd rather play next season than do nothing. He's a competitor.

The 3 year rule is not the problem, people like this are the problem.

Even if Fournette comes through the experience healthy, he will have done nothing to enhance his value beyond what it already is.

Clearly this guy thinks money is the only important part of football.

He's a 49ers fan fwiw. "Not a Saints fan at all" is what he said in an interview.

Serious question. How would taking the year off effect endorsements? He could potentially make more on endorsements than his rookie contract right? If he took the year off, he'd be out of the spotlight for an entire year. While currently, he's the most talked about player in the nation. Keep the spotlight for endorsements.

well, Lattimmore would advisee LF to take some time off. if LF get Lattimore type injury, then will this board say too bad that's football. this is a reasonable business decision for LF to consider.
