Yeah his offer list w as unspectacular outside of lsu but I never count out a hard worker with a solid processor between his ears. If he fits that mold then he'll likely make himself into a good SEC qb over the course of 3-4 years. Heck I always pull for the matt flynn, dylan Thompson, tee Martin types. I hope he's in that mold.

...he's kind of sandwiched between what seems like the future QBs of the program, but I think he'll have a season to be a solid QB here.
Franks arrives next year and Etling becomes eligible.
In reality, true "Dual Threat" QB's are very rare. They're "Glorified Running Backs" that played QB in high school because of their "Athleticism" and mostly run a simple "One Read" Spread Offense. (In Shotgun) If that "One Read" isn't there on passing plays, they take off running. They're either handing off to RB's or running themselves. Very little advanced reads and passing there.
So they get to a more intricate system in college, have trouble adapting to more advanced reads and being under Center. (For those that are recruited to play in an entirely different Offense than what they ran in HS) And most of these "GRB"s can't hit the broad side of a barn throwing a football, "struggle" reading defenses and going through progressions. (See the LSU "Square Peg Round Hole" system of QB recruitment)
Give me a "Single Threat" Pro-Style Passer with a little "Pocket Mobility" any day of the week. (Which Etling and Franks are) Don't need a glorified RB playing QB in the SEC!
(BTW, Hayden Rettig was 9-11 for 110 yards and no picks playing half the game for Rutgers this past week)............................

don't know what any of your rambling BS has to do with McMillan as he is not much of a running threat nor a "glorified runningback"

He committed to LSU in the summer and did not take any more visits and I'm not sure if he camped anywhere else. I'm telling you, he absolutely dominated the LSU camp.

"Single-Threat" = White guy. Got it.

if he RS then he could be a RS Senior when Franks goes pro after his Junior season..
not sure if my math is correct, but that would be very ideal. having a 5th year senior take over the transition and keep LSU atop.

Believe it or not. He reminds me of a bigger Herb Tyler. He is a quality back-up.

Another white back up QB thread. Yippie

The other Rutgers QB came in at halftime and went 4-4 for 138 and 3 touchdowns.
Norfolk State is horrendous even by FCS standards.
