all this talk about lsu being in the national final 4 etc...

Ummm, let's not forget we have a young defense with no game changers yet , a New dc and a some new faces that will start...yes beckwith will be our best player but any other projected starter will not be anything close to what lsu has had in the past on defense.....do you guys expect lsu who just came off of 5 losses last year in which a better defense we was last yr and still gave up several pts per game....also, with a couple new faces on the online and a new qb not battle tested yet again this yr not has proven anything yet....we have running backs, we have recievers...when I look at returning exp not one except hawkins/lf7 are top teir...not one player on d who will start is not top tear, yet...either the other sec teams have lost alot of their teams exp or someone is smoking crack if anyone thinks we will even get close to the national f4 without serious luck...we should be focused on winning and a bowl...if and onlu if we beat st. and auburn...then only then can we start to wonder...

Its all talk. Just last week some of them had us 6th in the west. LSU has a long way to go before any playoff talk should be mentioned at all.

Exactly part of a defense that gave many pts last yr and had 5 losses...until they prove they can hold it down, they are not good yet and no not one of those guys are top teir

On defense? We have tons of those in the secondary, baw. Tre White, Dwayne Thomas and Jamal Adams.
Arden Key and Donte Jackson have been hyped and I agree with you they're not proven, yet.
Beckwith is one of the best linebackers in the country that nobody outside of the SEC has heard of. Adams is arguably the best safety in the conference - certainly top 3. In my opinion, D. Thomas was our best defensive player at the time of his injury last year.
If the DL is just above average and the linebacker play looks more like the back half of last season than the first half, we should be a top 3 or 4 defense in the SEC.
Which is good enough to take us to the Final 4 with a few breaks here and there and if the offense lives up to the hype. (Great OL, best RB corps in the country and, *ahem*, a potentially explosive passing attack.)
ETA: Forgot to give kudos to Godchaux and Lacatoure - a great tandem that looks to be getting better and better.

Young and experienced are 2 different things. We have an experienced defense. GAME CHANGERS??? Have you heard of a guy named Tre White or Jamal Adams? They are both top 3 in the Conference if not even the country at their positions. Kendell Beckwith is a first round draft pick at LB.
Every position on the field has 4-5 star talent, WITH EXPERIENCE.

Is the defense REALLY young? DE are young and one corner spot. Every other position has a senior or junior letterman.

Yah they good enough to start for lsu on thier own team....what have they done? Nothing....the fact is this defense will not be anything until.they prove they are...hold miss st/auburn to two scores and then u can say we are good on d...until then our defense has many memories of giving up pts,lots of points....

And the point of this post is....? Are you trying to tell a fan base to get less excited about the season that starts in 2 days and that we should expect to lose every game?

U must not know much football and if u do...what has any starter on defense who played every down accomplished? Nothing...please explain ur proof? Oh and lets.not forget about the 5 or so brand new guys who will come in and play for first time....stop smoking man lol
