I have the 3.0 A6 and it is fun to drive.

Never test drove any of the 4 models, but can't imagine its much faster.

Get the a6 for the extra room.

The A6 3.0 S Line is damn sexy. I would never buy the 2.0.

I've got the 3.0 A6 and it's a blast to drive. Also the extra room is nice. That being said, I did test drive an S4 and that thing throws you back in your seat.

I'd also recommend at least the Premium Plus interior package.

My sister had the A6 2.0 and ended up swapping it out for the 3.0. The 2.0 made a weird humming noise.

I have the 3.0 A6 and it is a great car. The S4 is incredible , but, I liked the bigger A6.

I'm very much in the same boat. To me, if going S4, id probably just get the S5. I don't want to sacrifice the space from the A6.

The A6 3.0 is very respectable for its performance. On par with the 335, Q50, IS350, etc.

For a car that size I'd say it is. 0-60 in 4.4 seconds is pretty beastly.

I think I have my choice narrowed down between these two. I know they are vastly different cars but I'm having a hard time deciding. I don't really NEED the S4 but it is a kick in the arse to drive. The A6 would be much better for the everyday drive.

What would the OT do?

I went thru the same choice a few months ago and actually ended up with the S5. A 3.0 A6 is more expensive than an S4 and about on par with the S5(depending on options/trim). The lease numbers on the S4 and S5 are more favorable than the A6, and i was able to find a lightly equipped S5(i don't need nav or any other crazy bells n whistles) so i decided to get the car that i liked the most.

Either way you will get a beautiful car, if you go with an S4 or S5 you will also have something thats very fun to drive. The main question is how much space do you need?

I drive a compact car now so I'm not sure I'd be missing out on any space.

If you're under 40 get the S4. If you're over 40, get the A6.

The S4/S5 also gets you the sport diff (if you elect to get it) which takes the handling from great to amazing.

Plus, if you opt for an automatic transmission, the S tronic offered in the S cars is quite a bit more sportier than the Tiptronic you get in the A6.

Really it comes down to what matters more to you: sportiness or room/comfort?

For a off the lot car I'd disagree. What's your idea of beast?

The S package is superior to the A package in every respect. Inside and outside. The 4 series is just too small for me.

Had one for years. I got sick of people calling me to move shite. Now I just hire people to do that kind of shite for me. Although, I could probably get a cheap bank repo on a jacked up F-250 nowadays.

A6 all the way. Better built than the 4.

Can you get it in a manual?
