As a Cuse guy, how do y'all feel about this game/season?

Well after going 3-9 last year there's not too much room for more disappointment. Think the only place we can go is up. I like Shafer and having Hunt (a senior) return from the fractured fibula from last season will be a morale boost.

We will likely be 2-1 before meeting LSU (W vs Rhode Island and Central Michigan, L vs Wake Forest) so I'm hoping the arse kicking will put us in gear afterwords for ACC play.

I understand that the Carrier Dome is not air conditioned. Can anyone confirm this??

It would be a good concept to introduce to them there.

I figured they'd be improved. But I don't know enough about the team/staff to know how much.

In your experience, how frequent are night/evening games there? I wouldn't mind a 2:30 kick. But noon would BLOW.

I can confirm sweating to death in August in there, so yes. We should be fine in late September, it's usually sweatshirt and jeans weather

So let's take a look at the past few season home games for kickoff times:

2013: 4pm (Wagner), 3:30pm (Clemson), 12:30pm (Wake Forest), 12:30pm (Pitt), 3:30pm (Boston College)

2014: 7:30pm (Nova), 12:30pm (Maryland), 7pm (Louisville), 12pm (FSU), 3pm (NC State), 12:30pm (Duke)

2015: 7pm (Rhode Island), 12:30pm (Wake Forest), 12:30pm (Central Michigan), that's it so far

So it's really up in the air. I'm thinking 3:30pm is the most likely, but it could be a noon or night game. I don't think they'll give a noon because it's an 11am equivalent for LSU, the NCAA usually isn't that evil to road teams

One more question: What's the town like after a game (assuming a 3:30 kickoff)? Should we head to the downtown area for dinner and drinks or what? I'm going with my wife (we are in our mid 20s) and my parents if that helps. Not necessarily looking for a "college bar".

I'm really having trouble deciding whether I should go to this game. Hotel situation seems crappy at this stage.

Cool. I can still get in a solid 7 hours of tailgating if we get there at 8 a.m.

So there will be plenty of people on marshall street going to the varsity or other restaurants for food, Chucks (college crowd bar), or Faegans (much better choice if you want to stay around campus).

Since I'm also mid 20s, what I'll likely do is head downtown towards the bars and better restaurants. Bars include Empire, Daisy Dukes, Al's Wine and Whiskey, etc. Plenty of beer (empire), hot women riding mechanical bulls (daisy dukes), and class (Al's wine and whiskey). Restaurants I'd suggest getting a reservation for Pastabilities or just head to dino. You'll have to wait at dino probably for a long time, it's a biker bar with awesome bbq.

There's still some hotels in carrier circle. It's like 10-20 min away, really not that bad. You'd either have to taxi to and from the game or rent a car.

I would be driving up from the NYC area. Are taxis pretty easily accessible? I'd rather not drive to and from the game because of adult beverage intake concerns (i.e., I would like to be pretty well sloshed).

I had the same question. I'm not driving to or from campus.

I never had problems with taxis when i was there but I never needed one on gameday. Worst case you find another lsu or syracuse fan staying at one of the 15 hotels by carrier circle and ask for a ride either at the game or at the bars after.

I was wondering. I knew LSU fans traveled well, but I was surprised at how early and thoroughly the hotels had booked up.

Is that why all the hotels are booked? I looked the other day and there was absolutely nothing available, I just assumed LSU fans were coming in much larger numbers than I anticipated.
