I just have issues with award in general because of how it is framed. If it was just based on who is the best player then Bron should win every year.

Howard missed half of last season and they win 56 games. If they only win 5 more of the 41 games that D12 missed(conservative estimate), well that gives them 61
5 wins, conservative estimate.

I mentioned that the Pels "could have", not even would have, won 5 more games if there entire starting 5 had health, and Boom acted like a healthy Pels winning 5 more games was just impossible.

I agree.

But my main premise is if one is going to make fun of or not put much stock in an MVP voted on by players, I sure hope you're doing the same for the one voted on for writer's, as they're about on the same level of accurate IMO.

We've had this discussion many times, but I think the MVP is the person who provides the most value, and the best player in the league provides more value than anyone else.

Dwight f'ing Howard is a little more impactful on the outcome of a game than a Eric Gordon or a Ryan Andeson use your brain for once?

Yep, Howard is more impactful than AD, Jrue, and EG missing however many games they missed.

Sure thing buddy.

VORP accurately portrays the value added over the entirety of the season. IF you sit out 2 weeks and miss 10 games you didn't provide as much value as someone who played the whole season. Why do you think Lebron was 5th in VORP, 10th in Win shares? He didn't play as much as other players and so he didn't provide as much value.

Lebrons PER was 8th best this year. Just another argument for why he shouldnt have been the MVP. Like I said when you look at all the metrics together it paints a pretty clear picture when they all agree.

I like his conservative estimate of 5 wins in a half season when Howard hasn't come close to that pace for 3+ seasons.

And AD's 14 missed games alone was good for 2.8 wins, but it's crazy to think the Pels at full strength win 5 more games.

Jrue Holiday played in basically the same amount of games and had 3.4 WS to Dwight's 3.6, and win shares is the stat Boom loved to prop up almost all of last season.

Dwight's VORP last season, .3.

AD and Jrue combined, 7.1

But Dwight brings 5 wins, conservative estimate, and it's laughable to say AD and Jrue bring 5 wins.

Boom numbers.

Anyone know why Boom has made 2 or 3 Lebron related posts?

Not sure where that comes from.

ALso see the "oh shite I boxed myself in using the same numbers I prop up, so i'll just laugh at his post" reply, well played.

What's the deal, your VORP and WS are working against you?
