What is the F&DB's opinion on this list? Did they accurately pick the best places across the state?

I like how they mention the shrimp buster for herby k's (which is overrated) and picture two different items.

i think it was just a way to mention places to eat, not the best ones.

That's an odd list for sure. I mean, Coffee Call? Louie's?

If you look at it as "places worth trying in louisiana that are unique to LA" i give it an A+.

Did I imagine this, or were there no places from Lafayette on there?

Louie's and Morning Call? Come on.

I loathe these listicle-type non-articles. Over and over again, such food listlets are generated by a poorly paid (or unpaid) writer who hasn't been to any of the places mentioned. The copy is vapid, the included restaurants randomly chosen or identified by an analysis of most-frequently-mentioned places. It's non-content, more about generating links & traffic than about information.

Yes it does.

If you want to taste Louisiana cuisine at its best, you’ve got to try these 15 restaurants.

Admittedly that's a vague statement, but it does imply that these are the best places for Louisiana cuisine.

5 baton rouge restaurants and only 2 or 3 New Orleans restaurants?

I'm not quite sure what the qualifier was for that list. I live in BR, but we don't hold a candle to New Orleans restaurants.

They've sort of become their own kind of cliche. Just a useless scattershot of mostly nothingness. No reason to even discuss them any more, really. None of the places are bad, but anything noteworthy on any of them have been discussed here ad nauseam.

Not picturing the actual Shrimp Buster for Herby K's pretty much says it all.

This list was especially bad, and hungryone nailed it. The author of this garbage is basing it off half of his severely limited radius of travel and actual experience, and half off reputation of places he's never been to.
