That he could have defended himself in literally any other way than hitting her.
So she can break the law and hit him just because?

This whole thread of you defending him and talking about girls who instigate deserve what comes to them.
I can say she deserved it and not think it's OK.

She showed the first signs of physical aggression.
It looks to me that he was being a dick. Maybe I'm a little bitch, but that's not how I make my way to a bar. I even said slowly pushed them out of the way. I tend to stay away from bars as crowded as that. But in my experience, it's rude and a dick move to force yourself in a spot that someone else is already standing. I'm sure he would have appreciated someone else doing that to him though.
Yep, from being in a lot of crowed bars myself, it appears he is making a forceful move to get up to the bar and pushing her aside a little with his body. This always happens at crowded college bars. A guy doesnt want to wait in line, so he acts like an arse and forces his way up not caring if he is bumping or cutting in front of others.
She makes remarks towards him then they have words. Who knows what words were said that made her get more defensive and aggressive first. But at the end of the day, he shouldn't have hit hard that freaking hard.

But you're painting an incorrect picture when you say "he let her go and then she punched him."

You're not talking about the video from the OP right? She was barely phased by it
Ray Rice decked a girl. This is not like that.

One of my FSU friends said they want him kicked off the team because he wants his qb to be better at connecting with his targets.
I a little
I a little

Looks like he's still holding her wrist to me.

What the frick? There was an open spot at the bar. He wasn't skipping a line. Some of yall are really reaching to make this more sensational than it is on it's own.

I can't quite tell for sure from the video, but it did look kind of like he slapped her with an open hand.

He's not cutting anyone. He's taking the black girl's spot at the bar who just left. Should he sit there and wait until she is completely gone before moving in? That's how you don't get a drink at a crowded bar

I can't tell. But I have to believe that if that was a fist, she would have hit the floor
Posted on 7/6/15 at 2:39 pm to StrongBackWeakMind
quote:Exactly. The second he gave her an opportunity she hit him. He never should have let go of that second wrist until security came to get her. Once she turned around with fist up she wanted to hit him. He did a good job of just grabbing her to start. He then acted like a dumbass
Most human beings have two wrists.

100% she hits him first after he was trying to hold her hands
That was assault.
She was rightfully threatened.
He absolutely deserves to be kicked off the team and to do jail time.

I can't believe I actually liked going to bars like this in college.

Because she turned around with her fist up man. If you are trying to insinuate there is any possible way he started the physical altercation I dont know what to say.
He did start it. He bumped her a couple of times. She didn't like it and said something. He then reacted negatively to her, then it escalated.
You know all he had to do was apologize even if she was drunk and said something stupid. Any smart guy would have defused that situation and any smart scholarship athlete would really go out their way to defuse it.
You are defending an idiot and I'm not surprised.

What threat was she really to him?
What does it matter?
Well, I think that the only good justification for the use of violence is self defense and protection. The level of violence that you use to protect yourself should meet the level of threat. e.g. If it seems reasonably likely that someone is about to gravely injure you or possibly kill you then you have the right to use deadly force in response, as an extreme example. If there is no real danger of getting hurt then the amount of violence that is appropriate to use goes down. I think that you probably don't disagree with this.
The fact is that without some kind of a weapon, most average women don't pose a threat physically to most average men. This is just an unavoidable inequity that is a part of nature. The interesting question would be if this wasn't an average situation, and it had been a big ole gal bucking up on some little dude.
