What threat was she really to him? Fighting is never the answer to anything whether it's with a male or female, period. The fact that it was a girl that posed ZERO real threat to his safety is just cherry on top. I don't care if you think it's sexist or not. The fact that you think it is ok to hit a female in a situation like that is pathetic.

I wont say whether Im in the camp of dismissal because so many factors go into that type of call.. Id probably lean towards 1 year suspension with a chance to earn his way back.. I just have a real problem with a man laying hands on a woman.. It shows a complete lack of self control.

Most of the time when stuff like this happens I assume the FB player is to blame cause most of them are just too dumb to stay out of their own way. Here she wants to punch him the whole time, he grabs her hands to stop an altercation then lets go and she hits him anyay
He obviously shouldn't have punched her back but it isn't like he did this unprovoked or randomly. He didn't use excessive force on her, and a good defense lawyer could likely get this completely dismissed (she battered him first, he reacted in self defense with reasonable force)

Well legally, he grabbed her and restrained her hand before she threw that pillow tap.. It was more of an attempted face shove than anything and had the desired result of him letting go.. He chose escalation when he punched her.

I'd kick him off the team for the simple fact that he's a freshman QB hitting a girl at the bar. Idc what legal action he could or should face. What he did was MORONIC. Not that it's any better to do that in your sophomore, junior, or senior year...but fricking Christ you should have enough sense to know that coming in as a freshman you need to stay out of fricking trouble like that. He punched a girl on video, that's just too stupid to remain on my football team.
