Kevin Love will accept a five-year, $110 million contract extension with the Cavs according to sources

Where is everyone saying it was stupid to trade Wiggins for him cause he was definitely leaving after 1 year?

Never thought it was in doubt but it's always good to see someone keep their word. Hope he does well with the new deal.

Everyone was saying he was gonna do the same deal as lebron and wait a year and try to get huge money with the new CBA. I think he realized with his injury issues it would be smart to stay with the Cavs and build something special for the long run

Can someone bump that thread from the day he opted out where so many guys were freaking out and assured us he was leaving.

I like that he acknowledged the pool meeting. K-Love seems like a cool guy, and I like that the media never has any idea what he's doing or thinking.

But the MSB told me the Wiggins trade would go down as one of the worst ever after Love signed elsewhere? I'm so confused.

I think Love is a killing a fly with a sledgehammer. They have him now sure, so re-sign him. They can't do anything with that money anyway.

I still believe they could've approximated his role with a lesser player.

I don't think I was ever one of the ones saying he was going to leave but it was always a risk. No one knows what these players will do.

The MSB also can't grasp that LeBron opted out so he could re-sign with the Cavs and capitalize on the new CBA.

I think everyone realize why LBJ did that, some got annoyed with the "he's waiting to see what the Cleveland FO does" stuff.

I agree, but:

1. It couldn't be duplicated with a lesser guy, I know captain obvious, but more importantly...

2. I'm not sure there was a lesser guy to approximate his averages that was a legit get for the Cavs, don't think that guy was there. So in the end, they get the best guy they can, and the only person "hurting" is Dan Gilbert's wallet, right?

It was still stupid to trade Wiggins either way, IMO.

Love leaving after 1 year would have just made it way worse.

Gotta realize thats just the media and other teams trying to stir drama though.

Lakers have been leaking Kevin Love had scheduled a meeting with them since yesterday but it was all bull shite.

All this season random sources and execs from other teams have been saying Love was leaving. It was all bull shite. Other teams will tell fake stories they "heard" to try to break them up.

So with this all star cast, Lebrun has no reason not to win the ship next year, right?
