I know some people wanted to see wanted a glimpse of what was coming in following one the best seasons in program history. Torina recruited the #9 class in the country. Hauling in elite prospects from Georgia, Texas, Minnesota, and the best prospects in the state. We have 4 top 100 players that will be arriving to campus soon.

Shemiah Sanchez- From Sharpsburg, Georgia. Sanchez played SS in HS but can play second base. She bats and throws right. Sanchez has played on an international level and is well known for quick bat that is full of power. Her senior year Sanchez batted .463 with 15 doubles, 12 homers and 49 rbis. She is ready to take the field as soon as she arrives.

Taylor Satchell- Instate player who played at Notre Dame. Plays travel ball for one the best travel teams in the country in the witchita Mustangs. The Pioneers shortstop batted .592 with .629 on-base percentage, 1.143 slugging, seven homers, 38 RBIs and 32 runs. She is a true utility player that can play anywhere in the infield, and can play in the outfield. She gained experience as a catcher her senior year. Satchell is known as a clutch hitter. She makes big time hits. Her bat has pop in it as well.

Amber Serrett- The texas product played for Oak Ridge. Highly recruited prospect is a leader for her HS and travel team. She bats in the 3 hole, she hits in the upper .400's -.500 range. Very good bat speed. While a phenomenal talent offensively. Her defense is what really gained her national recognition. Very good instincts. Serrett is very quick on defensive and has a CANNON of an arm. She will challenge for playing time immediately when she gets on campus.

Sydney Smith
- From Minnesota, Smith is an All American, and its a Gatorade player of the year. Very good rise, screw, and curve ball. Smith owned an 18-0 record with one save, a 0.18 ERA and 218 strikeouts against just 21 walks in 126.2 innings pitched. She will receive a lot of playing time opportunities this coming season. Top 20 player nationally.

Akiya Thymes- From inside the state, Thymes had a .470 batting average with 55 hits – 41 singles, four doubles, and nine triples. Thymes earned 26 RBI’s in her senior season. The speedster is very good at getting on base. Solid player.

Elyse Thornhill- Local kid, was recruited by UL, Ole Miss, and MSU. She will likely be used as a utility player. Batted over .530 her senior year.

Will be a lot of shifting of the infield this fall. Outfield spot will be competitive. I think Satchell likely gets the nod. Shes too good not to have in the lineup.

LSU in all likelihood will be a national title contender as long as Beth is at LSU. Every year will be exciting from here on out

The first year of LSU softball was in 1997? My cousin played at West Monroe High School and in her senior year in 1995, she batted around .600 and was a 1st team All-American shortstop. She chose Texas A&M over UCLA and Florida St, but had LSU had a program she would have been there.

Shemiah Sanchez-

I have heard her be compared to Bianka Bell on several occasions as far as her bat goes...

If so, then God help the pitchers in the SEC

Sydney Smith plays for them and she's from Minnesota. Walljasper played some for them last year and she's from Cali. Mustangs have very been good for LSU softball.

Jaquish and Sanchez are playing together this summer with the Puerto Rico National team headed July 19 for the Pan-Ams games Toronto 2015. This week they are in Cali for the World Cup of softball and next week in Vancouver for the Canada Open. Sanchez will also play with the Jr. Team at the Jr. Worlds in OKC.

Play Bianka Bell and the U.S. Team at 7pm pct on Tuesday. Live stream

Hopefully they real streams and not a Periscope stream like they did for the National team vs. Jr. team a couple weeks ago. That crap was sideways and kept cutting out.

Shemiah Sanchez will be immediately be receiving time at DH. We now have a lot more players that are capable of hitting but Sanchez is a monster at the plate. It be stupid not to have her hitting somewhere. I am sure Bell will move to 2nd, have Serrett at SS. I think Jaquish was solid enough to stay at 3b. Shes not that bad there. Sanchez will likely see most of the DH spots most the year. it will likely be rotated a lot.

I am assuming that is the one that Emily Griggs' dad coaches?

LSU, Michigan, should be the top contenders. Michigan has a more veteran coach and all their players coming back.
