I still have a lot of nostalgia for this, but I do agree that it seems more hokey each time I watch it.

As a junior in High School, Deuces Wild was fricking awesome. Now, at 30, not so much.

Caster Troy. LMAO.

John Woo films... Enough said.

And I just fricking hate John Travolta. So much. Even more than Cage.

Can't stand the lady and the kid now. The raft scene is Crystal Skullesque.

Face/Off is classic John Woo, who is one of the most influential action filmmakers of a generation. This was around the time that his movies were making waves from China and he came to Hollywood and had everything pretty much shite on by the executives. But Face/Off is Woo to a T, including the slow-mo doves. That movie, while utterly ridiculous, is great fun, despite John Travolta and Nic Cage.

Check out Hard Boiled and the Killer. That shite will change your life.

As for Temple of Doom

I agree. That movie is an abomination. Truly.

Spinoff: I had the opposite thing happen with the first Austin Powers.

I can't say I've ever thought any of M. Night Shyamalan's movies were "awesome," so they actually don't fit this topic. Now if we were to start a thread on shite directors who somehow have continued to get work, then he and Zack Snyder would be my nominations.

Fair point.

They always look kind of awesome, but yea they all totally suck.

When I saw Curious Case of Benjamin Button in theater, I was captivated. I put it on the same level as Forrest Gump.

I watched it for the second time at home and was like "eh... this isn't nearly as good as I remember it."

An animated movie I watched as a kid with a singing rooster named Chanticleer. Can't remember the name of the movie.

Rock-A-Doodle

I think there are some movies that you can watch and enjoy over and over again and some that are just meant to be seen one time and never again. I can't think of any examples right now, though.
