Fair. But it is the best one he's played for, and nobody was penciling them into the Finals on the preseason.

I'll give him credit for that. He played hard last night.

putting up great numbers
Take last night. You say, 18 and 16. I say, 8 missed shots within 10 feet, numerous uncontested GS layups, 4 turnovers. Depends on which numbers you're looking at. Also depends on if you're actually watching the game.

OMG he bitched to get out of Orlando! I don't blame him. OMG he didn't work out in LA! Because Kobe is the worst teammate in the history of the NBA.
Nobody GAF about Orlando (at least, I don't). And blaming/blaspheming one of the best NBA players of a generation is not a good defense of Dwight.

Atlanta needs size but Horford is the same size as Howard

Because Dwight plays much bigger than his size, or Horford plays much smaller. Take your pick.

Yeah. But they just couldn't fully get it together. And Howard was still playing through a ton of pain.

He was never healthy when he was on the Lakers.

This thread is about Howard saying he is a champion.

because they started in such a whole, that team had like the third best record in basketball after the new year. that team is a scary playoff matchup for everyone until we literally lost our entire backcourt in the final half week of the season

Just did a little research on that Magic team. They won 59 games, including a record of 22-8 against the West.

2 overtime losses to the Lakers in the Finals, including Game 2 where they should have won if Pietrus didn't blow that layup and Game 4 where Fisher made like 17 threes.

They were the #1 team in the league in terms of defensive efficiency, mostly because of Dwight but they did have one or two decent perimeter defenders (the rest were awful defenders). Similar teams offensively in terms of having a lot of three-point shooters on offense.

They were good. Certainly not great or super memorable. They did dominate Cleveland in the conference finals, and that's impressive against a LeBron team no matter how mediocre the supporting cast.

I'd say it's pretty close. Dwight isn't as good/healthy.

Comparing Horford and Howard is stupid. They aren't even the same type of player. The Hawks do need a rim protector.

They aren't the same player, that's the point

Horford has an offensive game, can pass, play and defend multiple positions, make foul shots etc

Dwight is a rim protector. Great, so is Deandre Jordan. Look where it got em. Even a guy like Serge Ibaka realized he had to evolve from a rim protector. Rim protectors don't win titles baw

I agree. I tried to tell the dude that he was a PF, but he said he would still take Horford over Dwight as a versatile center or some shite.

I feel bad for doing this bc I know you're less than 24 hours from being embarrassed by GS

Are you familiar w 82 games?

Horford 50% of his team's minutes at center
7% of teams minutes at PF

So yeah not a center

Pelicans have actually had the best point differential against the Warriors over the course of a series so far.

I'm sure we would have won Game 3 if Curry had done a jackknife dive into the hardwood from 7 feet in the air

Yeah. I'm good with that. And people also dismiss that year when trying to discount him. What he did that year was incredible. I was a huge fan of Howard as a basketball player after that season.

To be fair, the Warriors were +7 with him off the floor. It was that injury that kept them in it.

My first post was that he's a power forward being forced to play center. ANY HAWKS FAN WOULD AGREE. It has been the story for years.

I seriously feel sorry for you right now because I know that each post you make will be more pathetic than the last.

I think the Pels will be a team that is built more for the postseason when things slow down. I'm pretty sure we play pretty slow in terms of possessions/game. Plus Davis is impossible to guard.

So that kinda bodes well for the future.

No he wasn't. I know you don't know because you haven't followed him since he left the Lakers, but he's talked several times about how people didn't know how injured he really was on that Lakers team and what he was playing through.

When he came to Houston, the Rockets were pretty shocked at his physical condition.

Kevin McHale said:

quote:

Last July, when we got him, he was not healthy. When we did a physical after we signed him, I sat down with our training staff and they were all like, ‘Oh boy.’ He had a huge discrepancy in his strength in his right leg and his left leg. His glutes and his hamstrings were really weak and his flexibility was completely … funky.

That's not even taking into account the shoulder injury he was playing through.

Wouldn't people say that teams like Spurs and Grizz were "built for the postseason" and a team like Warriors wasn't? Not sure built for the playoffs carries any weight.
