Anything over 500 lbs is the only way to go, otherwise you're offering a convenient carrying case for burglars.

I have a Homak 16 gun safe. I believe it was about $750.

This is a one time purchase, don't buy a piece of shat. Always buy a size bigger than you need - they fill up quicker than you think and seldom hold as many guns as they claim

Figure out your budget, then buy the one that holds the most guns for that price.

None of them are "safe" or "unbreakable"...

A gun safe ... a gun safe. I don't even own "a" gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack or a safe. What am I gonna do with a gun safe?

I have a Liberty Fatboy jr. I like it alot. There are quite a few on here that have Libertys as well.
Double what size you think you need too. A 24 gun safe will not hold 24 guns if any have scopes.

I love my Liberty Fatboy. Keep in mind, its a RSC, not a safe though.

Go see Mike Wards if in BR.

Sturdy Safe is the most secure available IMO, along with some AmSec models.

Read this website before buying. You will be glad you did.

Does the picture below look familiar? Most safes look like this. Sheetmetal bent over sheetrock. How would it handle several men and a prybar?

I wouldn't recommend anything you can buy in a box store. AmSec, Sturdy, Homeland, VaultPro, Ft. Knox are all good brands but keep in mind that nothing short of getting into the 5-figure price range is going to meet even the lowest specifications for security containers. There are things you can do to make these safes "better" by bolting them to the foundation and wall and placing them in such a way as to make getting a prybar into them very difficult. Mine is in a smaller closet and though it isn't as convenient for my access there is no way you are getting even a 3' crowbar at it without cutting through the walls.

If someone has the extra room, they could always create a false wall or something. I've got a few hidden storage spots built into my house where I keep guns, money, and personal stuff. I'm the only person alive who knows where they all are, and there is no way someone else would find them

That would be an option. Just find it humorous that some people will spend thousands on a nice safe only to leave it in the middle of a room where someone can get a 6-foot pinch point after it.

We just got a Brown and I wish I had made this purchase before the accident, maybe it would have saved some of my guns. Before I bought the Brown I had a Sturdy. The Sturdy was a nice safe that is made in California. Both are very good safes but the Brown is really something special.
