Are you kidding me? Kindergarten graduation, 5th grade graduation, Middle School graduation - all complete with regalia, parties, gifts, etc.

Congratulations, you have moved on to the sixth grade. You have done what you are lawfully required to. Here's a party and $1000 in gifts.

When did this start happening? When I moved to sixth grade, I got assigned a locker for the first time.

No kidding. It is stupid and a waste of time and money.

It is just one more instance where the shitty parents of today try to make their kids feel special about every inane "accomplishment" thus ruining their ability to function in reality.

And the parents are SO proud!!!!!!

Congrats. Your kid can go more than a couple of hours without shitting his pants.

If these same parents didn't give their kids attention then you would be bitching about that. Being a parent is a shitty thankless job, and the only fruits you get for your labor are alcoholic adult failures. Let the parents and the kids enjoy whatever they want during these early years. Without these small joys, parenting would be completely pointless.

First question: Why did you HAVE to go?

Second question: What school?

Third Question: I don't believe you.

It is a balance that is being thrown completely out of whack. On one side, you have the shitty parents who pay no attention at all. On the other side, you have the crappy parents who dote on every minuscule thing their child accomplishes thus resulting in a skewed view of their own importance.

Scruffy hates both of them.

I'm going to my daughters kindergarten graduation tomorrow morning. Followed by a party at one of her classmate's house with a large pond and fake beach.

What it does for me is allows me to take the day off of work and start drinking before noon while the kids swim and I stare at the milfs

A little ceremony is one thing, but the whole party, gifts, ect. is a little much. If I did not want to go, use Condons old line, "any day but that day would be good for me". Wait until you have completed something to have graduation.
