First question: Why did you HAVE to go?

Second question: What school?

Third Question: I don't believe you.

1. girlfriend's niece

2. not telling, but it's a catholic school so that made it equally infuriating

1. So you didn't have to go. At all. You are just whipped.

2. No Catholic school has a graduation for 4-5 year-olds at night.

3. See above.

So what tiny portion of the parenting spectrum do you approve of? Let's say pageant moms are a 10 and Casey Anthony is a 1. What's some acceptable parameters?

I see it all of the time and it is retarded. Even when I graduated from HS my parents didn't give a shite because it was expected and anyone with a brain can do it, its not like it is an achievement.

No kidding. It is stupid and a waste of time and money.

It is just one more instance where the shitty parents of today try to make their kids feel special about every inane "accomplishment" thus ruining their ability to function in reality.

fricking this!

I have no problem with graduations/parties/etc for any/every grade/occasion. I will go to every one for my kids. I will also not flaunt it all over social media and make a bigger deal other than immediate family. I mean really, is playing on the Internet or whatever else you're going to be doing more important than spending that time with your kids?

But count me out for attending other people's stuff or looking at it blasted all over social media.

I hate to ruin Scruffy's idealized image of the "good ole' days" but I had a kindergarten graduation in the early '80s.

But did you wear a cap & gown? I think that's what's stupid. We had a kindergarten ceremony at end of year, but there was no cap & gown or diploma or every member of my extended family in attendance, or gift registrys or parties. That's what's out of control.
