If game can not be played on that Saturday, I would much rather Thanksgiving night game. I don't see why Alleva is opposed to it. School is out so missing class is not an issue and neither is parking. Plenty of people are off for the holiday. I can't get off the Friday after bc I work for a small private owned company and pretty much half the employees are female and they all take off for the Black Friday crap. I have no issue with a Thanksgiving night game.

Well, you have to choose between a traditional family gathering or going to the game. That's a losing proposition every time. I'm okay with the Friday game. Do not want on Thanksgiving Day.

Just because your job makes you schedule a year ahead for a day off doesn't make it a "BIG BOY JOB." I work at a pretty big company and if I want to take a day off next week I just put it on the schedule and take it off....quit being an arse.

LSU football games should be on Saturday Night. "Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium" means something should be as much a tradition in the SEC as Alabama vs Tennessee or Auburn vs Georgia. It is the only tradition the SEC doesn't respect. Hell, they even let Mississippi State ring those freaking cowbell bells because it's "tradition". I think LSU needs to tell the SEC office "frick you, the game is on Saturday."

Our traditions on Saturday. It OUR home game. frick aTm's traditions when they aren't at home.

We should stand our ground. There is literally no reason to give in to this bullshite.

No one wants to tailgate at 8 am the day after thanksgiving out of town, with families, etc

The SEC HQ uses the excuse of "tradition" when they want something for their darling home state Gumps but quickly ignores "tradition" if it doesn't benefit them.

I wouldn't mind a Friday night game. Frick Thursday. But if we have to cave to friday, Joe should stick to it being at night. Friday or Saturday isnt of much consequence. 1pm vs 7pm is

Friday night quarterfinal football is my reason. It really sucks when your team is on the road.

For some of us, rooms and flight reservations are not changeable, nor refundable. If you published it 6 months ago, stick to it!

The Aggies have a "Tradition" of playing on Thanksgiving??

That's a bunch of rubbish...the "tradition" is playing TEXAS on Thanksgiving, not LSU.

Last year on Thanksgiving at Kyle Field, there were 15,000-20,000 empty seats. The 3rd deck of the student section was about 50% full. They may have announced 105,000 fans at the game, but they fudge the numbers too. There may have been 85,000 at the game, but definitely not a full house.

I lived in College Station for 10 years and fudge on that "tradition." Many of their "traditions" are going away as they get too big for their britches.

as someone who lived in california for 10 years while in the marines, i enjoyed the fact that the friday game was 100% guaranteed to be televised.

i know the locals probably had their gripes, but it put lsu on tv by themselves that day which allowed alum and fans across the country access to watch while selling the lsu brand back when it needed it. i see nothing wrong with continuing to do both in 2015 and beyond.

and what difference it makes which day its played, the seats will be empty in the 3rd qtr anyway....amirite?
