Why all the hate on possibly playing A&M on the Friday after Thanksgiving?

What's with the hate on Alleva for "caving in" leaving the option open for us us to play A&M on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Lest we forget we played Arkansas on Friday every year. Why was there no hate for Skip for caving in and being a sellout? BTW when I was at school I didn't hear much hate for playing Arkansas on Friday. In fact I remember people like it. It was nice playing during the day on a crisp November afternoon.

We have always griped about a 1:00 kickoff on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

As I understand it, the TV powers that be wanted to move the game to Thursday (Thanksgiving). Alleva was opposed to playing a home game on Thursday.

bitches gonna bitch, man...

honestly, since I am off work, it really makes me no difference which day we play on that weekend...

only thing that I hate is the typically low attendance on games played on thursday or friday...

College Football is meant for Saturdays.

Not Thanksgiving, or Black Friday.

If the weather sucks, nobody shows. Even when the place is packed, the crowd doesn't seem to get into the game. The reason I don't want to play on Friday is because LSU agreed to honor A&M's tradition of playing on Thanksgiving, yet we essentially got nothing in return. Because of the SEC's television contract with CBS, it's unlikely that we'll get to play the game on Saturday night (our tradition) on the years that the game is in Baton Rouge.

People complained about it every year. Stadium usually had some empty seats

Also, Joe is the one who said it wouldn't be played on Friday when he caved into playing a&m on thanksgiving

It's a big shopping day for a lot of women too. I like women at tailgates

At that point late in the season, you would need a bye before that game.

If the SEC is trying to force us to play on Thursday, you know it's to frick is due to 11 straight games in a row before a bye when it is a 13 week in season.

When it's 14 weeks, and LSU has its bye before Alabama, you get what we had last year: 2 byes in the final month of the season.

frick Thursday games and frick the SEC for wanting to put us there.

You don't see them putting the Iron Bowl on Thanksgiving, do you? Saban/Alabama wouldn't let them do it.

I don't like the 1:00 start time, but the game on Friday is cool. You get Thursday off to gorge yourself, and watch some other usually notable games...Friday to get hammered, tailgate/eat leftovers, and then you still get the entire weekend to do whatever.

I'll speak for myself, but it'd be great for a lot of Texas Tigers to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving Thursday and have ample time to get to BR for a Saturday night Aggy arse beating

I might be in the minority, but I really enjoyed the game being on thanksgiving night this past year.

If game can not be played on that Saturday, I would much rather Thanksgiving night game. I don't see why Alleva is opposed to it. School is out so missing class is not an issue and neither is parking. Plenty of people are off for the holiday. I can't get off the Friday after bc I work for a small private owned company and pretty much half the employees are female and they all take off for the Black Friday crap. I have no issue with a Thanksgiving night game.

Would rather play Arkansas that Friday but I like the Friday game as well. I don't mind Thanksgiving day as long as it's a road game.

No one goes to that game. Skip should get more hate from the fans, he did hire Les Miles.

Because half or more of the 100K going to the game don't live in Baton Rouge.

Because people have to WORK and may not be able to get off or may have used all their time off? I have to schedule my time off for the year in the December before. Some people have BIG BOY jobs! Also, Thursdays and Thanksgiving is for the NFL which I could not careless about, so keep the game on Saturdays!
