Hypothetical-supervillain movies-which one would you greenlight

With the Suicide Squad coming up, do think the market is there for full blown villain movies? Kind of the answer to saturation of heroes?
Could the General Auidence be expected to watch it?
I see it close to the horror genre. Saw, Jason, Freddy,etc..of those movies can go on for years, supervillains can to.
Who would you greenlight? Lex? Joker? Magneto? Doom? Thanos?
Also, the payoff is that down the road a confrontation from the arch enemies (i.e. Spider-Man and Green Goblin) would be tremendous.
Of course, it would have to be the truly outstanding villains that resonate.
My vote would be Doom. Then a guy like Scarecrow would be awesome.

I mean we rooted for Gerald Butlers character even though we knew he was guilty.... A solid villain movie be awesome imo.... maybe a coming of age type that eventually tied into a storyline of a current movie.

that's what I'm thinking
Infinity War Part 1, would be more awesome if it was just The Thanos Quest by itself.

A Cilian Murphy Scarecrow movie. Yes please.

I would love to see a trilogy about Darth Vader. But only if Vader doesn't show up until the last 5 minutes of the 3rd film.

You talking Law Abiding Citizen? Can't help but like the bad guy.
Kind of similar with Prisoners. You know hugh Jackman is doing fricked up shite to the special needs kid and he is evil. But at the same time, you know there might be something in you that might do the same if someone kidnapped/killed your kid.

I think after First Class everyone wanted to see a movie about young Eric Lensherr going around South America hunting Nazis but he would be the hero in that. Still would be a good movie though.

Thanos
Basically his actions up until the avengers movie 3

Yea, Law Abiding Citizen, but we all knew he was guilty of what he was accused. We still all rooted for him to get away with it.
I think much like how Marvel is doing Daredevil Kingpin on the Netflix show, they are showing how he came to be. Something like that on several villain would be interesting.

None. There are enough comic book movies already.

I don't think they could ever pull it off well because there is so much story and because it's not well known enough to fill seats but if they could I'd love to see a Kang mini series or series of movies.
That's someone who is definitely a villain but who has positive qualities and is admirable at times.

I think the obvious choice is Magneto, one of the best all-time villains and is able to toe the line of righteous villainy while staying sympathetic.
Few villains can actually do that convincingly.
A Lex film can be cool, however, we've seen that dozens of time.
Doom? Meh. Joker? I mean it could work as a horror film, but you'd need a hero from somewhere.
A Winter Soldier film would be great. Marvel has proven that Loki can be done well on screen (although I'm not sure as a full movie, however Hiddleston is pretty astounding as Loki).
I think the underrated choice is Mr. Freeze. Could have a Darkman vibe to it. He's like Magneto. Can be the sympathetic villain.

Only if we get his origin. On film.

Good call.

I can't think of a much worse choice. What happens? Does he just massacre the innocents and then get trapped in the end? Doomsday to me is wholly uninteresting, and anyone could come up with that character. If he didn't kill Superman, no one would give a damn about him. The best villains aren't defined by a single action they've done. They're defined by their personality and their relationship to the hero. Doomsday and Superman have no relationship to speak of; they just fight.
