Looking to use my time more constructively, want to pick up a hobby..

Any of you OTers do something cool in your spare time besides bang my mom? I'm tech oriented so maybe something in that field? Or a workout routine? Anything.. share what you do here. Just been a little depressed and want to do something (not looking for sympathy, but I'm legit trying to battle it on my own so save the bullshite.) Money isn't much of an issue and neither is time.

Let the responses flow and hopefully somebody post something I might be interested in or they want to share to interest somebody else.

Previous hobby experience includes

* Arkansas pigeon racing club
* A+ certified
* Use to run a lot (dropped 60#)
* Sports
* Reading

Thanks guys

Food challenges are one of my passions. I can give you some broken things that I don't feel like fixing and you can have fun with them

Fishing. Everybody can do it, it's easy and cheap to start. You can choose how much you want to get involved in it.

Go buy a kayak. I just bought one recently and try to go whenever I can now and I don't see how anyone can NOT like kayaking. Great source of cardio as well.

I go bird watching. its hard to get into but its very rewarding. You always see birds, and it uses a bunch of pieces of your brain you probably don't leverage much. Plus its light exercise.

If you are single and interested in 50+ yo women, its got a lot of those too.

get out and walk in your neighborhood. the increased oxygen flow will make you feel better, you'll feel better about yourself because you accomplished something, and you'll meet lonely housewives working in their yards.

Join a running group that gets together a couple times a week and is training for something (half or full marathon).

Golf

Fishing. A lot of bass clubs you can join as a non - boater and they'll pair you up with a boater for tourneys. Once a month. Usually pretty cool guys and a laid back atmosphere.

Lt me throw out genealogy. It can be really interesting, just be prepared that you may run across a few blacksheep in the family as you are going through.

The cool thing about the hobby is (depending on your ancestry) it can open up membership in various groups such as Sons of the American Revolution. These groups typically have great meetings with interesting speakers on a variety of topics.
