I understand that maybe he's doing it to portray the violent nature (or in the case of this small spin up lack thereof) to those at home who don't really know much about tornados. But for someone who is supposedly an expert in their field, I think tossing around EF ratings is unfortunate.

Nah, what he's doing is irresponsible and ridiculous, you're definitely not the only one who is blasting him for it.

and i cringe everytime he refers to the radar as "the dopp"

Sun has pretty much set on the cells.

Judgement day.

Let's see what they do.

Sirens sounds like they're cycling every 10 minutes or so here. Lots of lightning activity going on. winds really picked up.

If there wasn't so much HP this storm would've been started, velocities are 100 mph+, but the precip is cutting them off as soon as they form. On the other hand all this rain is causing flooding which is blocking a bunch of the chasers in.

It has been pretty crazy to watch the RFD cut off the inflow of these today but they ramp right back up. I keep thinking that after one of these RFD runs we would see a cell spit out a huge outflow and stabilize things. There has been like 10"+ of rain across that area this afternoon!

These cells.

They have it all.

Slow moving with incredible rain and still throwing out decent tornados.

Likely rain-wrapped but that sucker looks menacing on the radar.

ETA: Wait, sorry. The DAR.
