I enjoy the session ipas because I feel they pair well with food. I don't particularly care for a big hop bomb with lunch or dinner. I was drinking an Envie last night and found myself wishing for just a bit more hop aroma and flavor. I'd be curious to see where these session IPAs rank in terms of sales for each brewery.

Glad they touched on the waxing. I can see if it's this big barrel aged anniversary off shoot but there is no reason to wax something like TR's Ivan stout or even the Bombs! or WnB series.

Just annoying and a pain in the arse to open.

Can't speak for everyone, but All Day IPA probably makes up over 75% of my money spent on Founders, even when KBS is included.

I think All Day IPA makes up over 40% of Founders production.

I've yet to have a Session IPA I would buy again, including Pinner. Maybe I just like more malt flavor WITH my hops.

I've yet to try a session IPA I didn't enjoy.

Less Malt + More Hops = win

People like to be passionate about things. It's okay, even if it's something you aren't passionate about.

Am I the only one that prefers Go To more than All Day?

I've had mixed results with Go To. Sometimes I find it better, yet others times it has had an off flavor, like grapefruit rind. What I can say is that $15-16 for a 15-pack of All Day cans sure beats $10-11 for a 6-pack of Go To bottles.

I appreciate the session beers, and get the purpose, i just haven't found one i really enjoy. I've been cutting back to having a 1 beer a night 2 or 3 nights out of the week. Before it was 1 beer/night nearly every night. And i just can't drink a session IPA if that is my 1 beer for the night. I see those times, as good times for really taking in the beer and the flavors.

My go to IPA's (or double IPA's) available here in louisiana are:

Sweetwater Hop Hash - which i believe this is the best year round ipa available)
Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter IPA - Very close 2nd to hop hash

As long as the popularity stays with the IPA's and leaves my stouts and porters on the back burner with a couple of special releases every so often, I'm fine.
