Session IPAs are the only IPAs I actually enjoy. Crafters will always care about big beer while denying it and they will actually care that someone drinks it.

Eh, if a company that was literally 16,000 times larger than mine was calling me a chode and my product crap because they felt threatened, then you better believe I'd play it up to my advantage to sell more product.

Hell, I'm actually ramping up my consumption of session IPAs. More brewers are doing them well now, and my palate is shifting away from big boozy DIPAs. Oskar Blues Pinner, New Belgium Slow Ride and Founders All Day are all solid beers with nice hop aroma and flavor. Most pale ales don't approach the hop levels of these.

I'm not a session drinker, normally. Even when I do, I'd rather have 3-4 big IPAs and drink them slower than throw down 6-8 session IPAs.
Having said that, even when I do session drink, I usually don't stick with all IPAs, unless it's not my choice. After drinking several IPAs, my palate is ready for a switch. Sessionable IPA, or not...

Totally disagree with the Session and Adjunct. The other 2 I don't care about.
If the "vast majority" (their statement) of Session IPAs are no good, what about the ones that are?
I like the adjunct trend. Why stifle creativity. The market will dictate what lasts. (Although a lot of people only want a free market when it suits them-small craft brewers included).

Never got into those session beers. People who drink them are basically drinking bud light, like the article noted. It's much more preferable to drink less beers with more flavor.

I'm still all aboard the Session train…all day, go to, Slow ride, Recreation ale, many more worth mentioning….all worthy of drinking

I'm not a big fan of sessions. Most are disappointments for me. But Pinner and Easy Jack are legit. I'll probably be drinking more of those with Weekend Warrior this summer.

This. I've never really enjoyed session IPA's. Too light of body and hops come out as crisp but not full flavored.
I prefer just regular old IPA's. anywhere from 5-7% ABV.

I don't think they are saying that these things should be erased from the beer landscape, but rather that they are overdone and let's move on to something else...
