Honestly true for both NE sides. You guys would likely bounce back quicker though. I could see us dwindling down there for 5+ years with top championship sides getting better. I'd rather us both stay up as its a fun rivalry. Wish hull would be the 3rd going down. It'd be a shame for either team who packs 45k in a week week to witness pure shite to go down.

the magpies ran right through the championship when they went down last time but didn't sell all of their best players. guys like colo, jonas, ameobi, steven taylor, krul etc were still there. this time around i think most of their best players would bail, plus the championship is so much more difficult nowadays.

I don't know if the Championship is really that "good" as much as it is just very competitive. Most clubs that earn promotion struggle mightily the next season. Yes lots of players would go but Newcastle has so many more resources than most Championship clubs it shouldn't be down there very long. This is a much bigger club than Portsmouth or even Leeds.

That said I'd prefer to not temp fate and spend (at least) a full season having to illegally stream 95% of their matches and not be able to go to Fado's to watch.
