It's easy for us to pass judgment when we aren't the ones losing $4 million.

Honestly if Collins is really a stud NFL prospect, signing a UDFA deal is the best case for him. He'll be able to sign a 2 yr deal which means he'll be a FA in yr 3 while most draftees won't be able to sign a new deal till year 3 or 4. And that yr 3 contract could be huge and make up for whatever money he lost in the first 2 years. Going un-drafted is the best case for him if he plays like a stud his first 2 years. If he's a bust then yeah he's up shits creek.

Ok so basically what I'm hearing is that he is not a suspect; however they have reason to believe that it might be a murder-for-hire type thing. They are hypothesizing that she was pregnant with his child and he wanted to get rid of them. I guess we'll find out if the DNA from the baby proves that it's his. If so, the shits gonna hit the fan.

If you thought the baby even might be yours, wouldn't you at least visit the baby once in the hospital while it was dying.

all this talk about money, draft status, and how tragic it is that Collons was only a 2nd round draft pick.

Yet I hardly hear anyone concerned about the baby involved. Was it Collins' kid? If not then why is he so tangled up in this mess?

If Collins thinks this *might* be his kid then why wasn't he by the kid's side the entire time up until his death, which was YESTERDAY btw. I'm looking at my children that I love more than the world with disbelief over how shallow this whole thing has been.

i agree but i think the whole is it isn't it did he didn't he conversation has been basically beaten to death multiple times and we've heard from the apparently some of the top PR gurus in the world and many of the brightest legally minds o this generation so theres not much point in beating it to death till more info comes out.

ya that was what was in the peter king article I posted also. So if i'm understanding things correctly his agents ultimatum actually totally screwed him more than anything else since it pretty much guaranteed he won't be drafted SMH.

Maybe he will be able to recoup some money by suing his agent .....

Doesn't that make him a suspect?

I'm not in his shoes obviously. But I think he should hae looked "big picture" sooner. Come out and say your priority is to get this cleared up, find the killer (and I assume he knew the woman at least).

Get an agent that can do PR and knows about handling things that pop up in athletes lives other than X amount of money on a contract.

Get an attorney that knows how to do PR and get your face/story out there that you are willing to help and are trying to help find the killer in this tragedy.

Gotta look long term. Sure not going in the first round sucks and you lost some money, but at this point he should be trying to get it all together and think 5-10 years down the road or he's gonna screw it all up.

He's not a suspect as far as being the one who actually killed her and the baby, but it's rumored that he didn't want the "excess baggage" following him through his NFL career and the hefty child support checks he'd be required to pay. Like I said, the DNA results will be interesting... if that baby is his, things could get ugly for him real quick. In the end he's either going to be vindicated or possibly facing the death penalty. It was also convenient how he was out of town at the time it all occurred.

Well my sources are 3 former NFL players who all still have NFL contacts, and they all basically told me the same thing. If you don't care to listen or believe, that's your option.

Honestly it only really matters that he *thought* the baby was his. I'm sure they have he cellphone etc. and know they have been in contact (would not surprise me if she had been documenting). So they will know if the situation was becoming acrimonious, and I doubt they blew up his draft because there didn't appear to be any issue.

So on one page of this thread you say that you haven't been following this closely at all, and then the next page you have NFL sources.

That's correct. I expected him to be drafted yesterday, based on what local media was saying. When I woke up this morning and saw he hadn't been, I called my 3 guys to see what the real story was. Actually had lunch with one of them at BJ's just a little while ago.

And you're right -- it doesn't matter if the baby turns out to be his or not; what matters is if he thought there was a chance it might be. That gave him motive. I guess time will tell.

if they believe he may have hired someone to murder her, then he is a suspect...
