does anyone think that the African American population would ever riot and loot in Southern cities like what is going on in Baltimore?

I just can't see it happening in Lafayette, Baton Rouge etc.

I could possibly see New Orleans.

Atlanta would be first. Then Memphis, New Orleans, or Little Rock.

you don't see North Baton Rouge being capable of having a riot in North Baton Rouge?

if the riot spills out into other areas, big problems. I don't think that will happen though. I'm talking about Baton Rouge....

New Orleans, Memphis and Atlanta would be my guess as far as a jump off point if things were to escalate.

those riots last night were pretty isolated. there was one corner of a TON of activity that all the news stations were shooting from different angles making it seem bigger. that whole thing was pretty isolated to a 4-5 square block area i'd imagine

and that wasn't prime real estate. that was poor people fricking up their own neighborhood. that could easily happen in NLC, let alone NBR

New Orleans has seen riots many times. We've seen quite a bit of violence in Memphis recently. The reason riots in the south have rarely gotten out of hand, like we see in Baltimore, is our lax gun laws. In Baltimore, the rioters knew that once the police "gave them space", they could essentially rape, pillage, and burn at will due to the fact that Maryland's strict gun control laws ensured local business owners and citizens were unarmed. In Louisiana, that certainly would not be the case.

People who say New Orleans don't really know New Orleans.

I don't see it happening here on the scale of those other cities.

ironic because there's probably not a southern city that has promoted and embraced diversity an acceptance anymore than they have

Southerns are better armed. And probably better aims.

1. Corrupt police department? Check
2. Large poor minority population? Check
3. Local government that would tolerate rioters for political reasons? meh
4. History of riots & looting? Big f&%king check!
5. Unarmed law-abiding populace? no
6. History of extreme ingrained racial segregation? not so much
