I guess most of you are to young to remember the Baton Rouge Race Riot 1972 on North Blvd.
They shot and killed 2 EBRP sheriff deputy's and beat the hell out of WBRZ news Anchor Bob Johnston.

Turn out 20 black panthers all from Chicago had come down to instigate the riot.

We tend to forget that a lot of these rioters comprise out-of-towners looking to get in on the action. Most people don't actually enjoy ruining their own neighborhoods, if I were to venture a guess.

Maybe so. Not in my town thought. Jackson's PD is 80% black. Governor would not hesitate to call out the guard. The police in the surrounding burbs don't play one bit.

Read my several other posts if you're interested. Atlanta has more middle class black people than anywhere else in the country. The core of the city is increasingly diverse (meaning white people are back) and the edges of the city and suburbs are increasingly black. Black people in Atlanta likely have more clout than in any other city in America. In my opinion, our riots are more likely to occur in proxy battles regarding development and zoning and city break offs and the like. The grievances just aren't the same as in cities where black people and white people live in adjacent neighborhoods but live totally different lives.

Not many cites deeper into the Mason Dixion line than Miami. I doubt anyone calls Miami a southern city

Well, Louisiana has such a unique culture, I doubt anyone would call them a southern state.

Of course Southern cities could have large scale riots. We've had them before, we will have them again. You cram enough people in a small area and it is bound to happen sooner or later.

You are not, however, likely to see an ongoing Ferguson or Baltimore style riot throughout most of the South because most governors here will call out the National Guard in a heartbeat. The Ferguson riots, for example, cooled down pretty quickly once the Missouri officials got off their lazy backsides and sent the Guard in to nip things in the bud.

Republicans are more about law and order then keeping out of folks business. They will drop a battalion or two in to quell a riot in a heartbeat. Hell, even the Democrats in the South will do it and then highlight it when they run for office next time.

No riots in Birmingham. Too lazy. We had a total of 15 people turn out for the Ferguson sympathy protests.

They aren't going to do shite down here. Shreveport police killed a kid with a cell phone and said they thought it was a gun a few years ago. Team sweep it under the rug took care of the rest.

Did you ever see the video, because it could of been mistaken for a weapon and was.
If you call the State Police, The FBI, and The Federal Attorney's office Team Sweep it under the Rug. Well you're incorrect.

Tuscaloosa had Rodney King riots pretty bad. Montgomery is also very black. Any city in America has the black population to riot. It wouldn't work in Denham Springs though.

Unless they block the people going to work or loot Costco, I'm ok with it.
