According to CNN ,court papers claim Scott owed $18,104.43 in child support.

Damn.

Do the cops think they can really gather police support for this? Smh. Typical behavior. Guess we shouldn't expect less.

It gives a context to the situation but only a sick, deranged ISIS supporter would use this as grounds to justify the cop murdering Scott.

It sure doesn't, but executing a fleeing unarmed man on camera shouldn't turn out well either

So you don't want all videos and evidence released? Pretty sure nobody is supporting the shooting and the authorities charged him with murder. You can reel in your bait and go home now.

I know the adage of "don't have kids if you can't afford them", but this is an everyday thing in America. That is a perpetual jail sentence for a resident of SC. And putting them in jail does exactly what?

Does anyone else see what looks like a passenger in the car? There definitely looks like someone moving their head on the passenger side.

Why did he run?

Was it his car?

Just want
To know how much of a liar the victim was. I had heard he had been arrested 10x and it may have had to do with not paying child support.

Thanks.

It's not a HD video, so kinda hard to tell if I was seeing someone in it or maybe a reflection or something.

Cuts down on the ability to pay child support for the others, while increasing the debt while they are there, as well. So we have to pay for a guy to be in jail, as he goes into debt that he will never get out of, so that we can most likely pay for the food stamps the kids are probably on? Seems like an ineffective method.

I haven't been pulled over by a cop in five years. I'm a law abiding citizen with no warrants or any reason to run from the cops, so my reaction to getting pulled over would be different than Scott's, but as black man the thought of what could happen always crosses your mind when dealing with cops.

FWIW People don't like getting pulled over by the cops, regardless of race.

Even more reason to comply and not give them a reason

Seems like things would have been better for the cop had he not tried to fabricate a story at all.... The ole "I thought he was running to get in a better position to shoot me" defense..... His lawyers will have to defend him by saying that thanks to the current racially charged climate in America his client , the cop, had no choice but to try and make a better narrative for his "justifiable" shooting

The worst argument of all time when it comes to police shootings.

"Hey, I'm not saying he deserved to get shot, but when you run from the police, they might shoot you."

Getting shot by the police should not even be a possibility someone considers when deciding if they should run from the police or not.
