Ok so I only have .31 of an acre but am really starting to think about getting a riding mower just to save time.

Anyone else do this? It may shave off 20 minutes but if I cut twice a week to keep it neat and tidy that adds up.

You must be a busy son of a bitch if you need to expedite mowing time for a .31 acre yard!

for what you'll spend on a riding mower and maintenance, hire someone.

There is a Gravely 34 inch walk behind mower. I would buy it way before I would get a riding mower.

I almost pulled the trigger on a couple of 34/36" walk behinds when I was cutting grass. Perfect size IMHO, but you really just need a self propelled push mower.

Over a half acre, you can consider a riding mower

Riding mowers and zero turns may damage your yard more than it's worth for such a tiny yard

No doubt I would do this.

Time> money.

Over a summer that is several hours.

Someone who is cutting for a living isn't going to push mow your grass, and that commercial 42"-48" ZTR is going to do more damage than a residential 32"-36" ZTR. Size of yard doesn't really dictate how much damage it will do to your lawn.

For the cost of what it will take to get someone to cut your grass for 2 years you can buy a small residential riding or ZTR, weed eater and blower.

I have a small yard and a 36" hustler raptor. I can wake up off of nights and get the grass cut on two lots in the heat of the day during the summer, before going to work and beat the rain if need be. Plus I'm not a worthless peice of shite at work after.

You will never regret having a riding lawnmower over a push mower, especially in July and August.

See, I may be in the minority, but I hate cutting grass. HATE IT. I'd get the biggest thing that could fit in there. Who cares if all you do is engage the blades and the lawn is done?

And tear up the grass? So what. That's less grass to cut next time. Did I mention I hate cutting grass? But I have to cut 6 acres a week. And no, I don't get paid for any of it.

.31 acres with a house, driveway and flower beds? You can not be serious about getting a riding mower?

.31 acres on an empty lot....maybe
