I have a large amount of giftcards to sears I need to use and I am in need of a lawnmower. I will be cutting about a little less than half an acre. Would this be a good mower? Any other recommendations from Sears?

I don't know about their platinum series, but I've owned a few craftsman mowers that only lasted a season or two. I'm on my 7th year with my Honda.

A ruler and a pair of scissors, get to work

I have one very similar to it. I'm on my 3rd season and no problems. Always have used ethanol free gas and it is a one pull start mower every time. Only thing I've ever had to do was sharpen the blade. Good mower for the money.

I have always been happy with Craftsman mowers. Mine is going on it's 10th year and still starts 1st or 2nd pull.

Get the model with the big wheels on the back.
My Craftsman has been going for 15+ years.
The transmission just went out Monday night, but a new transmission costs @$60.

Have one similar, 4 or 5 years old still going strong. Had to replace the carb 2 years ago, but no other issues. Cut around a 1/2 acre.

Craftsman power equipment sucks. Always cold natured.
