I would definitely put it in the interests section. I handle a lot of recruiting and personally like those types of achievements.

Did that guy just print out his LinkedIn?

That's a generic template, but yep thats what they are doing.

Another trend is putting these little charts for their skillsets. And these dumbasses always have the chart all the way up.

One of them had 10 stars on Microsoft Excel. After I interviewed him, it was evident that he knew how to use the SUM function - that's it.

Why would you waste space on your resume for interests and hobbies that have nothing to do with your professional accomplishments?

I don't think it's appropriate to have an interest/hobbies section on a resume period.

Its like putting you crossfit on an application. Utterly ridiculous.

You should put a 26.2 watermark on your cover letter.

Who wants to read graphs and charts on someone's resume, I think that would most often get trashed at first sight.

Who has room for an interest/hobbies section?

I've already had to cut some experience to keep mine to 1 page.

I think it's ok. I have interests/hobbies on mine and it has really helped me in some interviews as the interviewers and I ended up sharing stories about our mutual interests.

A practice owner interviewed me once and was interested in talking about fly fishing (its in my hobbies) after the business stuff was out of the way. He'd never done it but had "always wanted to try it" and by the end of it we were talking and laughing like old fishing buddies. Had a very nice offer from him 2 hours later.

I say it is OK to do this, but be careful, it could be resented by some fatty HR folks.

That depends, can I put "above average penis length" on a resume as well?

Yea I think so. Putting things like that under hobbies/interest/distinctions is fine. It shows a commitment and dedication to something.
I wouldn't put World Class Halo champ.

Same here. I put rugby on my resume and it's ALWAYS brought up. "man you guys are some tough wild sob's...".

Only if it could enhance your ability to do your proposed job. What if the interviewer is a couch potato or hates runners? Nothing to gain
