That's the place. Good call. I was gone from br when you kids were hitting clubbing age. I came back for good about when "get your roll on" and "the bunny hop" were popular. I felt very old.

How would one place opening ruin the rest of third street?

Not that there is much to ruin though

Hueys is a fine bar. Nothing wrong with it at all. They do host some events that aren't my kinda crowd but normal nights it's a good bar.

I've seen him downtown with a few ladies that I can only assume weren't his wife. I think they have an open relationship if I had to guess. That or the guy is just friends with a quite a few women.

Don't you be all cynical you little bitch just cuz you didn't know that no left turn sign at e. boyd had been there over 10 yrs.

In 94 there was nothing but the Shelter down there on weekend nights.

Sunday after the Mutts parade I was down there and had a real good feeling thinking about the progress made in last 15 years.

That place was pretty small though wasn't it?

No. It took over that whole messican restaurant area. It was rather big for a BR club. dancing and shite in front and to left. pool tables around to right and all way aroundto bathrooms in the back. Wasn't much smaller than Triple a(sans funny bone) but way less cavernous feel to it.

Downtown has improved by leaps and bounds. I know people want to hate on some of types of people they see down there but if you go to any city with an entertainment district you will see varying types of people. I remember when people would say downtown was a ghost town and it wasn't safe.

I don't understand how some of his votes on the metro council do not constitute a conflict of interest. I remember last year he voted not to allow the Time Out Lounge to build their new bar in the Southdowns area (which is fine by me), but since that time he has opened two more bars and now plans on opening a third that will be at least partially competing with the Southdowns area?

in the downtown area to outright asking other tap rooms to look at their inventory(with btw, a woman that was not his wife).

Dude is an a-hole and really hope he doesn't run for mayor, he might get elected.

Now that's just stupid. He's not cheating on his wife. If it was someone with him looking at venues it's probably a current bar manager or someone in the industry as a consultant. You are a shite stirrer for that. I've known the dude about 30 yrs and disagree with him on St George and other shite. But the last thing he's doing is cheating on his wife.

Now if it were me on the otherhand. You'd probably be right.

You defiant little shite. You know you saw my recollection. Unless it was removed for 10 yrs and recently put back, you lose. LL gets to Peg you tonight.

Nobody ever told me development would be fast. But Preis Tower(or whatever it was supposed to be) never happened. Remember the billboards on 110 advertising them. Smh at that debacle.
I wouldn't mind having a pad(crash pad, frick house, etc) downtown for stuff when down there with kids or without.

having a pad downtown is expensive. they want to grow downtown with young professionals but the prices of the residential spaces are outrageous. sorry BR but you dont have a lot of 30 year olds in BR making 6 figures willing to live downtown when there are cheaper and better options elsewhere

i still disagree about the sign

Haha well there's no denying that dynamic. But knowing him personally, he's focused on
1. daughter
2. his district
3. his bidnesses
in that order.

Nooo shite. I left out the part. "If I was a baller"

It would be an investment and functional.

It's absolutely a conflict of interest. If he had any class he would step aside on issues like those, but it didn't happen. And he obviously got away with it.
